Real question! All the retailers in my town have been wiped clean of them---name brand and generic both, all gone!
Aight, I aint gon die...........but still. Anyone know if this is just a mid west thing? Is it national? What? Seems like a bizarre thing to have suddenly dip in availability.
The supply chain problem has certainly gotten worse in the last few weeks. In the bakery department we've been receiving less than one third of our frozen order every day. No cupcakes. No sourdough bread. No pre-decorated cakes. No half sheet cakes. No English toasting bread. No raisin bread. No King's Hawaiian rolls. We're missing certain breakfast pastries. No Primetime French bread. No crusty breads. No Lofthouse cookies. That's all I can think of off the top of my head but I know I left a bunch of stuff out. The whole store is just full of empty shelves now. The problem has seemed to have gotten worse since the first of the year. Now what could have happened in recent weeks that would have caused such a problem?

It's the latest wave of government induced panic. They know their conventional means of getting that vax in us have failed; this is the new angle they're going after.
Watch and see if I don't prove to be right about this. They are absolutely NOT done with us.

Actually I just looked it up: there's been some big factory strike of the producers of all these snack foods. Hate that it affects we consumers, but as a union man I back em. There's always good reason to have union solidarity.

Yeah, the unions are shockingly and hilariously corrupt. It's worse every year while "Right to Work" states are hung out to dry. It's "Not the Onion" bad.
It's so sad that strikes are necessary to compete with fast food.
We have crackers daily at this store. never run out.
I just knew someone would make this comment. I remember years ago a man asked a worker the man was white the worker was black. White man asked, "where are the crackers?"
Black man said "Then MF'rs are everywhere in here. The man just gave him a funny look and I started laughing and I am white. The man then gave me a funny look. I thought we would get called to the office but never did.
But to answer your question it is more than likely supply chain. It is winter it is cold people make Chili, Soup ETC in the winter. I personally like the Club Crackers better. Sometimes they get low Kroger stockers work Club Crackers now used to a vender would come in. I have also noticed low stock on Chili Like Bushes Beans not sure about soup. Someone needs to get it together because I love Chili with Bushes Beans with Chili Sauce. Last time they gave me sniders brand I was so ticked off.
We get them sporadically. I purposely order 5-10 cases of everything. If I am lucky, something will come in. If I order too many, the warehouse will limit what we get. If I let the computer order, it will only order 1 case at a time. The warehouse will be out by the next time the order is sent.
Yesterday we had Zesta and Townhouse crackers. But they sell out fast. The Zesta I got recently taste like uncooked/unmixed flour. I have never tried Townhouse crackers with chili. Doesn't sound right. lol. The vendor crackers are hit and miss too.

Try just buying the cheapest, generic OYSTER CRACKERS for putting on your soups, stews, or salads!!!! They are actually nothing more than Saltine Crackers that don't need to be broken in pieces because they are small.
