If they are understaffed and you want a go at it, tell your Str Mgr now. But then again.......if produce us so overstaffed...why hasn't the Str Mgr already pulled someone over there?

Be ready to run into some glass wall politics with that. i've seen it. There's prolly reasons why the deficit in 1 dept and over staffing in another. You'll have manager's fave ass kissers who refuse to transfer or help out other areass, for instance.

Every department is understaffed. It just depends on which basket where you want to put all your eggs.

Front end is just as bad. They've got the staff but they refuse to give the hours. My store has 8 registers but will only staff 1. The sco register has to always be open so your could be in a register cashier is stuck running the computers. On the weekends maybe 2 registers and that's only during prime time. Cheap @$$es will only make sure to over lap shifts so they don't have to pay another employee.

Corporate has an unrealistic expectation on it's departments.

My kroger company has failed several sting shops so they stripped staff of the over 21 button. Customers can be suck di--cks when you refuse liquor sales. The 80+ seniors are the worst. they've always been use to just being immediately bypassed on anything. Now they're realizing that corporations can be hard @$$es on them too. The nice thing about scanning is it is exposing fake id's. I've denied 2-3 sales this week due to fake id's. Even if we do get our 21+ back I'll scan from now on when I ask. My job is more important than the could be consequences of selling to under aged individuals.
