KROGER IS GOUGING CUSTOMERS
Permalink

I went into Kroger yesterday to get some bagels from the bakery section.  The last time I bought them they were $2.99; yesterday they had gone up to $4.99.  That a 66% increase in price!!  I understand that costs to the retailer have gone up, but this is ridiculous.   People are just going to stop buying everything but the absolute necessities.  Bagels are not a necessity.  Or maybe they'll look for somewhere else to buy their groceries.

DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!

^ This is why I steal everything now. I mean everything I possibly can. These dirty mother fuc kers are going to keep ass raping us all to death until our Executive Branch 'steps in an saves us from the evil retailers!!', which will really be they'll be taking more bribes, and then the dust settles, the prices lower....but are STILL 28% higher than they were, and we're all supposed to be grateful! F U C K that! That's what we're seeing happen with the fuel prices right now. Steal all yo sh!t like I do.

Spam post that is total gibberish. DO NOT BELIVE ONE OUNCE OF THIS! You are a programed slave into thinking this.

Kroger is actually relatively cheaper than most other stores. it's a bit more expensive than fred meyer's and a little less expensive than pcc. It's not as low as target but even target's prices are on par with kroger right now. I've noticed safeway and kroger often price compete. Some years kroger is about 20% cheaper than safeway and vise versa.

Slaves? Are you kidding me??? Kroegers coffee jumped 3 bucks in 24 hours!!! The next day it was 3 dollars cheaper again - Cheese, canned fish, meat, flour, cat food, even peanut butter are dollars more expensive while they rake in HUGE profits. Zero patience for this. I have already switched grocery stores. To make matters worse, Kroegers managers love to move their products around, frustrating customers and generally turning grocery shopping into a game of Kroeger HIDES, Customers seek. Its no longer pleasant to grocery shop and profit soaked companies like Kroeger just make it worse.

This is why I STEAL every thing I possibly can.

The only ones modern retail goons catch are the impulsive fools. They cannot possibly stop someone quiet, crafty and properly motivated.

I call it A$$HOLE TAX, lol

Tell me where 'your' store is, I'll steal from them too!

Safeway and Albertsons tend to be more expensive and upscale.  Some are bigger and nicer than Signature Stores.  There used to be a Safeway across the street until Kroger's and Walmart's lower prices put them under.

Around here, Kroger's prices (on sale items) have traditionally been competitive with Walmart until Covid. They've since increased to Safeway/Albertsons levels, but for some reason our shelves are empty, no checkstands are open, the store is dirty, and departments are closing early.

Winco and Walmart are now *SIGNIFICANTLY* cheaper and they don't have the ridiculous "Buy x Save y" sales.

Rodney has been surprisingly enthusiastic about inflation in interviews.

Kroger is obviously price gouging.

The part that bothers me is that Kroger is literally spending billions on stock buybacks (which only benefits shareholders) while the union shrugs and can't get employees one red cent.

Please for the love of God stop posting SPAM like this before you actually do your homework.

This post is laughable!

This info is  100% false and thanks to you people will fall victim to your lies and actually believe it because people are stupid and only read the headline of something before doing the actual f'n homework behind it.

Rodney laughs about passing the costs off to customers.

I think the part he's laughing about is that inflation means a pay cut to employees while a corrupt union refuses to do anything.

And then, I hear stuff like we're charging $2.19 for a simple head of lettuce that used to be less than $2.00, while another competitor, a more high-end retailer is charging $4.99 for the same head of lettuce...Iceberg, not even the fancy stuff! And I've never paid that kind of money for lettuce in my life! Even the bagged salads went from $2.99 to $4.29...It's almost to the point of ridiculousness these days...And then, I look at old ads in the papers from way back when and see how cheap stuff used to cost in the supermarkets and you wonder where it all went wrong...

I mean, we're better than the competition, but do you think a point will come when people will say "Enough is enough!"? I could almost grow my own lettuce for what they're charging these days...But, OTOH, restaurants are all coming into our stores to buy it for salads, because the other guys want WAYYYY more for the same product!!! We're still cheaper, but there has to be a limit on inflation at some point before it gets unrealistic...

The fundamental nature of humans is to be lazy and stupid.

A lot of people only shop at a place because they can walk there or because it's geographically convenient.

It's still difficult to compare price per item per grocer, let alone pickup or delivery fees.  Kroger is easily a dollar over for some items.

It makes me wonder how paying for fuel points ultimately compares.

Also, **** Rodney and the shareholders.
