The app is poison. They have been pushing it hard for years. Are the terms and conditions (which of course can be changed at any time) available? This damn company is a den of thieves and swindlers. Cash is king. Park a block away, leave your phone in the car, use some random phone number to get the regular card discounts, pay cash, or 

do not enter the store.

The app is indeed poison.

Kroger is fundamentally unwilling and unable to understand technology, let alone pay for it.

There's no way Kroger is competent enough to creep on your device, but there's no way your information is safe or secure.

Walmart and Winco are significantly cheaper anyways.
