Sure.

Had 2 cart pushers die; one was an old guy, he fell out on the lot. Other was a middle aged dude, alcoholic, kept coming in from the lot to cool off, management kept sending him back out. He came back in one last time and died of a heart attack right in the foyer.

Over the years since I've been gone I've lost 3 people I used to work with. Cancer and heart attacks. One guy almost died on the job, in produce, but one of the mgrs cpr'd him back. He went on early retirement after that.

You stick on any job long enough and you'll see people check out, sometimes while on the clock. It happens.

At least two.

I was there for one.

Grandma was doing some Easter shopping.  I know because I was tasked with putting her items back.

Had a heart attack or stroke or whatever, keeled over in the back of the store.

Fire Department or paramedics showed up, and they were doing CPR as they carted her out the door.

CPR has a 5% or 10% success rate at best and she was ANCIENT.

For the other, an old timey manager told me about a previous incident and that she thought the store was haunted.

Sure. And there have been plenty of close calls.

Ideally, it would be a hell of a lot.

But paramedics and the fire department have Narcan these days.

Goddammit.
