To whom it may concern:

I had just worked my 1pm to 7pm shift, but my day ended on a bitter and pissed-off day with no 15-minute break!

In my 9+ years as a Courtesy Clerk, from $6 an hour back in 2003 to $10 an hour in late 2017 and I'm about to make $12 an hour in or after June 2023 I've expected everyone I worked for and with to do their jobs right, if not consistently, and sometimes it seemed every busy day I have to work, be it Saturday or -god forbid- Sunday or a special event that clearly has no "holiday context" whatsoever (like New Years Eve and Day for example), it's the same nonsense or bull****, someone forgets to tell me to go on Break after any small task like cleaning up someone else' mess or spill or doing Store Sweep since I tend to prefer to spend 2 to 3 hours doing Lot and bringing in shopping carts and refilling the shopping baskets!

DO YOUR GODDAMN JOB AND SEND ME ON MY BREAK! FROM TODAY ONWARD I REFUSE TO ASK FOR A BREAK BECAUSE THAT IS A SUPERVISORS JOB AND IF IT'S SO ILLEGAL NOT TO GIVE AN EMPLOYEE A PAID BREAK, THEN DUH MORONS! OTHERWISE I ****ING QUIT!

Sincerely Pissed Off,

Peter "Michael" Simkins

That is a serious concern.  Very serious.  The most serious concern I've ever seen.

What's your local UFCW?

Thats the worst case of workplace abuse i've heard ever, might be grounds for a class action suit...

You are being exploited, and you should move on. That is too many years already. This company is feeling relaxed and confident after putting the last break-related class action suit behind them. Find a better company.

Dude, just go on your break. Sometimes management gets busy (not that I support management all the time) but how hard is it to let someone know "hey, I'm going on my break." Then don't answer any calls until your break is done.

That's what I do.
