How long can someone push the system? Coworker just gave up and he's showing up to work but refusing to work?

I think it's time my coworker decide if they want this job any more before management enacts job abandonment. He decided he hates this company and refuses to do his job duties. He'll do the bare, bare, bare minimum to not get in trouble and now he's refusing to do that. I feel for ya but you have to work at the same time. You need to decide if you want this job or not. I highly suggest indeed.com.

That was a sneaky spam.

I have worked with a lot of slackers over the years.  The company, as a whole, is to the point where people don't even want to show up for their shifts.  I enjoy my job even tho it isn't glamorous.  I often want to tell people to just quit and go find something they like or pays them what they want.

I do the very very bare minimum and Im okay with this hmjob cause I make sure I work as little as possible. It just passes to other fools to do it. Almost getting paid for literally doing nothing. Its great biggrin

Funny thing is, I NEVER pick up thr slack from lazy co-workers. I fo my own job and nobody else's.

Like this past Friday, a co- worker was working on a click list order and stopped in the middle of it. I saw it turning itself a deep shade of red meaning it was going to be late. Did I sign in and finish? Nope. I let the order turn a deep shade and continued with my other tasks. Not taking the blame or making it look like I messed up. They can take the fall for their own mistakes

As you should! However most of the people at my store are dumb as dog**** so they pick up the slack. Just yesterday I took the whole 8 hours to put up spices. I was asked to do some Peyton totes but nah. Been doing this for close to a year just easy money

Realistically, inflation is at least one third since covid.  Unless you include housing.  Housing alone at least doubled, but rent isn't up much more than one third.

The last time the union came around, I told them that I didn't join because I'm not earning anywhere near a living wage and I'm not even fulltime.

Maxed out in a punishment department.  But not fulltime, as that's only for management.

They promised wage increases ...years out.  Conspicuously timed to coincide with minimum wage increases.

I asked them to help me apply for EBT since "union pay" qualifies for it and Walmart literally does that on Day 1.

They laughed at me.

"Feeding the human spirit" is an abusive joke, sure.  Didn't think I'd be the punchline for the union too.

Working here isn't really a job.

Even hourly management earns poverty wages.  Full time.

Well, without a regular schedule.  So they can't even hold a second job.

Which one might need to actually pay rent.

Everyone else makes much, much less.

Two muches because it's part time only.

Or as Rodney would say, "Too much."

There's plenty of employees who clock in and do nothing OR do less than bare minimal (even in the management position)

Company does not want to be known for job termination because "people need jobs"

It's a miracle anyone's parents make them show up at all.

I think its time for you to drink a tall glass of stfu and mind your own business. I highly suggest you worry about your self and not others. Not doubt your work ethic probably sucks cu-nt. The shareholders are not gonna be pleased with this.

There are some professionals in the company but this should and usually is a stepping stone to something decent. What remains is evil, crazy, stupid or some combination.

Your guy might be separated by the company or go away on his own. It really is hard to say what will happen.

F___ this G_d damned company.
