Remember: Staffing isn't your issue it's the company's.
Stop letting them exploit the actively working staff and fight back. I'm so fed up with this company I want back to 4 days a week every other week. They're still not hiring people to fill the void and refusing to do so. Floaters are frustrating because they do not know how to correctly do the position and it's only encouraging the company to hire less people. This method works at trader's joe's but that's because they figured it out and have been doing it long enough staff are accustomed to it. Kroger is very slow at figuring these things out.
Personally, I'm so burned out from this year alone I don't care any more. Lost faith in them hiring additional staff. We've been down 2 people all yr and a department needs more than 2 (1+ lead) to operate. We need at least 4. There are many days/evenings where we have no staff at all and our lead keeps doing 50+ hr work weeks to retain department. They know if the merge goes through I'll be part of the first wave of quitters. I was hoping to retire with this company but I highly doubt it at the rate they're going.
