Only do it if you want that experience on your resume other wise I would not recommend it. As a general manager (gm) you get to deal with the following
10 hr work weeks of 5-6 days.
Long work weeks totaling 80-100 hrs frequently. Meaning you might get one day off in between a length of 6 or 10 days then repeat.
You required to bounce between opening/closing shifts. Meaning you could start as early as 5/6 am and leave 10 hrs later. If you get out on time.
You are constantly on call. Meaning if there is an emergency you get to haul your @$$ back to the store even if it's not convenient for you. At any time of the hour. On call 24/7.
Holidays are mandatory and there is no if and or but about them.
Sure you get more vacation but keep in mind when you take vacation your other managers will have long work weeks until you get back.
Aside from that you think you have power but in reality you're just a yes answering slave to the higher ups at corporate. Meaning you actually have little to no power at the store level.
You get to deal with managing adults all day long. That can range in intelligence from middle schooler to well educated adult and any where in the middle. You get to extinguish employee fires between staff if issues arise. You get to deal with pissy karens that are flustered when they don't get their way.
I really only advise you to do it if you want the experience. Do it for a year then move on. 6 mo to 1 yr is all you need and other companies will scoop you up no problem.

General Merchandising. They stock items on shelves throughout the store (i.e. OTC medicines, hygiene products, cleaning products etc) they also keep (or try to) their work area clean and organized.
