Whoever thought of the idea to pull associates as side help for front end etc was/is an idiot. Front end hours have been cut or not used so executives and store mangers can fatten their bonuses. Customer complain all the time about the lack of cashiers and baggers. I tell them I don't work in the front end. Not a bagger. If they ask can you open another register, I say sorry it's not my job. Using other departments for side help consuming most if not all of my shift as well as other associates is crap and inefficient. Managers at all levels are useless and overpaid. Store manager should take care of the whole store to make sure the store is operating properly. If associates are pulled out of their departments for most of their shift sales will go down because no one is there to help customers and less product is available. If sales go down significantly in my department I will know who to blame and I will be bluntly honest about it. The unrealistic wait times at registers apparently come from the magical hat from Hogwarts. If Kroger spent the money on staffing their stores the right way and less on useless tech they would not need to worry about wait times at registers and other departments could do their jobs more efficiently.
