I can't believe how long it's been since I've taken 2 full weeks off due to harassment from management or department leads because they are short staffed. They're always friggen short staffed. Or the lead(s) harass you to work even if you're doing a stay-cation. It's your time off work, you earned it and deserved it. Just make sure they pay you.

I get 6 weeks vacation. I take all 6. One year they kept asking me to postpone my vacation. It eventually ran into the next vacation. So I ended up taking two consecutive weeks. It was so nice, I decided from then on that two of my vacation weeks were going to be together. I work in the bakery department with four other people. We each have a specialty. When one of us goes on vacation, it's a real struggle for the rest of us. But, do we fuss and try to guilt that person into giving up their vacation? No, we just deal with it because we know that person deserves their time off. We may not have any fresh bread or be able to take any cake orders or have any cookies baked etc., but it is what it is.
