Glad scheduler is saying no more preferential scheduling. This is what got our old manager in trouble.

Finally some success in our store where the old manager began encouraging preferential scheduling. After numerous ethics reports for gender discrimination it was another nock against him and what got him fired in the long run. Unless an individual's restrictions generate a specific schedule, you get no more preferential scheduling. No more 40 hrs a week because you say so. No more I want this shift and only this shift and will get it. The department has about 6 different shifts (small department) and you get one of those. Not what you want to work. If your restrictions are so tight you don't fall into any of those shifts well tough luck getting hours. This is what the schedule should be not just copy paste from a master schedule well over 2 years ago. It might of worked then but not long term. Business changes, personal schedules change and your personal schedule is non compliant with the company unless your restrictions prevent you from working said shifts. You sign a contract to work you can't have a preferential schedule. Not only is it bias discrimination it is also what led me to come close to filing an eeoc claim. There was zero fairness in this schedule and the way it was being written was gender discriminatory towards women. The company got scared when I said if you don't fix this bs I will move foreword with one. Because it is discrimination.

 What about seniority?  I've been with Kroger 37 years.  It took me 20 years to get a set schedule.  You think I'm going to give up my schedule just because some new hire says it's not fair that I have a set schedule and they don't?  You don't get the perks if you don't put in the time.

Seniority is written into the Union contract. One of our FES at my old store got into a lot of trouble for putting someone in our Fuel Center when another employee w/more seniority applied for the position.
