Hot store
(Preview)
Does anyone else work in a store that is so hot you sweat? I shop at another Kroger and that store is nice and cold. I don't know if they don't know how to use the system or they don't care. It has been mentioned to management. It was cold one day last week, in this heat this is ridiculous. Even the vendors and c...

What is the most stolen/shoplifted item in your store?
(Preview)
Sunday night two young (probably underage kids) tried to steal two bottles of those mini-Bota Box wines that we sell for around $7.00. They were confronted by our security guard, who dropped the items and they ran out of the store. They then got into a fight with a customer at the fuel center who witness...

Assistant Manager
(Preview)
Well, a few weeks ago I was in my old workplace Kroger. As always, no shopping carts in the lobby. They were all out on the lot. One of the Assistant Managers was barking orders at a few courtesy clerks. She was talking loud enough I heard her say to them "If you do it the way I am telling you it works." I gu...

Dear customers: If you refuse to allow us to scan your id for your liquor sales: We CAN and WILL Refuse sales! I don't care if you're 80+ and beign a jerk about it. Retail sucks
(Preview)
All jobs do really, but retail's at the top of the dung heap. I've read pretty much all the arguments for staying: long term union employee, can't beat the money, easy work, decent benefits, yada yada. All I can say is, if you're really hip deep into Kroger and it's working for you, then of course stay. Bu...

I still line up the carts in the corral sometimes
(Preview)
So every now and then, I make a trip to my local Kroger. Although it's been years since I worked there, I was a courtesy clerk and part of that was the dreaded cart retrieval. Sometimes when I get there and see a corral overflowing with carts not because of the employees, but clearly because customers wer...

I've worked at a couple different stores and found that they had totally different music playing at the store. I know there are different "stations" that they can play but the 2nd store I worked at had only a small array of music meaning that you heard the same handful of songs everyday. It w...

Does anyone know what the Kroger policy is on employees carrying concealed firearms? I have my CCL, so everything is legal. I just want to make sure I won't get fired for carrying at work.

Childish and bad decision making
(Preview)
Anyone else think that it's childish for corporate to no longer allow Closing orders after editing them? Before you say its because zebra processes must be done right to Work, we scan everything every week and holes and it still leads to 40ish cuts being needed on my orders. Cases we do NOT need. Alloc...

Amusing little module on active attack situations.

Triggers loads of delayed stress if you been working here a while but still has amusing stuff. Like a video of a young black male running from the building like he isn't too worried about cops making assumptions. Or the advice, "Run as far away as you can. If you can still see the building you are too close...
