I'm pretty sure it's been answered before already. But I'm asking because although I've only experienced two changes so far this week(one to cover for another co-worker that forgot to request enough days off, so that she could come back from her home town after hosting a Bachelorette party for her fr...
I have social anxiety. I haven't been working for Kroger for long, but I work as a cashier. This lady came to my lane with piles of food. I looked at her and smiled and then she said "you need help?" but in a not so friendly way. There was no bagger on my lane and she said "you better get somebody to help you out....
I'm off work for a week. So, I've had some time to think and work is one of those things I've been thinking about. Management doesn't notice those that aren't in their station, always on their phones, or spend 30 minutes wiping down one thing. They only notice the ones actually working. I think the next t...
I worked for Super X Drugs for 10 years, I thought I was vested, I am not sure. Will I receive any retirement payments? Where would I go to check on this, or who would I call?
The constant, widespread, ubiquitous use of cellphones (for texting, scrolling Facebook, Twitter, viewing pics, etc) ON THE CLOCK by employees (who are SUPPOSED to be working) will be the downfall of Kroger and other companies if it isn't gotten under control, and SOON. It is totally INSANE how m...
So I know everyone says they can't make you come in on your day off but what about if you're a dept head? Because I was called this morning and I said no because I've had personal things to do all day. They said they we're expecting company and to let them know if I could make it. I said I didn't think I could and...
I'm new to Kroger, been a cashier for two weeks now. I made a mistake counting the bills a customer gave me, I stupidly thought they gave me too much money. So after I reviewed things in my head for a few minutes, I realized I gave them back $10. That means the till would be short $10. What's going to happen to...
I hate it when someone comes in to shop, and they smell like they took a bath in some obnoxious, stinky cologne. To be fair, I realize that many people may have problems with their sense of smell (especially older people, but some young ones as well), so they may not realize how strong it is. I've had some...
The Dairy Dept in our store is always struggling so co-managers are always stuck helping out there. The store manager recently approached me to take over the dept and was wondering if any Dairy leads on here can paint a picture for what it's like to run the dairy dept on a day to day basis. Be specific plea...
Im a new hire for overnight and the store just straight up won't tell me when I work. I have to call in every day to ask and the website that normally would tell me my schedule hasn't worked for me since the day i got hired, is this normal? Should I be more concerned about this?
So I'm checking them out, there's no bagger, and so they insist on bagging their own, even after I say that it's alright, that I can bag for them. So they start bagging their stuff, and then a bagger arrives, and they just give up and let the bagger bag their stuff. This is something I found interesting in m...
Honestly, I haven't been in the workforce for long. I've noticed, there's a couple of managers I've tried to get help from, including the HR person of the store, and they're always unapproachable. Straight-faced, monotone voice, avoiding eye contact. I get that they've got things to do. But I just...
I'm new to Kroger, and the person who was in charge of creating my schedule for this week into the system... sorta didn't. So I had to ask one of the managers to let me work, cause officially, I was off for the entire week. Problem is, everytime I come into work, the time clock won't let me sign in, cause i'm n...
Literally, trash. I cannot wait to see what the circus drags in when we finish our hiring blitz this month. We are getting all our summer hiring done and I cannot believe what the trailer park is dragging into the Krog out here. All I can do is shake my head when these goofballs come in with their sweatshi...
I don't know if your division has started the new standards program, but.... The booklet for my department is 20 pages. Everyday you have to meet these standards and look "80% of grand opening" conditions. After 30 years with Kroger, this is the first time this will come out of my mouth. YOU don't pa...
