Reporting and investigation procedure for sexual harassment and other forms of harassment

If you believe that you are being sexually harassed by a co-worker, supervisor, customer or vendor, or if you believe you are being harassed by a co-worker, supervisor, customer or vendor because of your race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation, you should take these steps:

1) Firmly and clearly tell the person who is harassing you that his or her behavior is unwelcome and should stop at once. If possible, take a witness to this discussion. Write a statement about the incident and what you did to stop it, including dates, times and places. This statement will be helpful if the harassment continues and the company needs to investigate. If you are uncomfortable with telling the person who is harassing you to stop, then proceed to the reporting procedure below.

2) Report the incident to your immediate supervisor, another member of management, any person in the Human Resources Department, the President, General Manager, Distribution Manager or call the Kroger Helpline at 1-800-689-4609 or email your concerns to (helpline@kroger.com). Your report should be as specific as possible, including the name of the person who is harassing you, a description of the conduct and the effect that conduct is having on your working conditions and work performance, and the names of any witnesses who could assist in the investigation. All claims of harassment will be investigated promptly and will be handled professionally and as confidentially as circumstancespermit. Your further participation in the investigation may be necessary, and you will be informed of the outcome. The company will not tolerate reprisals or retaliation against persons reporting alleged harassment or anyone participating in the investigation of the alleged harassment.

Sticky Topic   Welcome! (Updated: 4/14/22)

July 1, 2004

biggrin.gif  Welcome To The Kroger Employee Forum

The purpose of this forum is for Kroger employees (present, past or pondering) to share and discuss their views on company policies, practices or any pertinent issues.  Non-Kroger topics are also welcome.

RULES! -  censored.gif

-- DO NOT SPAM OR ADVERTISE --
If a topic is posted multiple times, I.E. more than twice, I will either merge the topics into a single thread or outright remove them; this depends on the topic or method used to post and is handled on a case-by-case basis. We want a forum where topics can be discussed and found in a clean way. Advertising is not acceptable and clutters our forum. If you spam or advertise (I.E: cbd oil, dating, essay writing services, ect.) you will be banned -- instantly. Neither will be tolerated. We will, in addition to banning you, file a complaint with your ISP if you advertise illegal services such as essay writing, fake documents/passports/ect.

DO NOT POST REAL LIFE INFORMATION
People's personal information is taken very seriously around here. We don't want your co-workers or manager to find your posts and track you down. I make a good faith effort to remove and inform people about this type of thing when it comes up. If you must post things about your fellow employees, managers or customers be vague. You can vent or praise things about them but don't point them out in a crowd.

TRY TO BE RESPECTFUL/ DON'T EXPLICITLY HARASS OTHERS
I don't strictly enforce this rule as much as the other two but if it happens on a very consistent basis I'm not against removing it. Giving people nicknames is not against the rules but if you're giving them derogatory names in an effort to belittle them I will take action. I've done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future. You don't have to be nice but we'd really appreciate it if you were.

 PROFANITY, VULGARITY, and PORNOGRAPHY

No New Posts   I hate when customers wait till the day before or the day of the holiday

May 16, 2024

Why not prepare a few weeks ahead of time and grab some items? I know the coupons for the week  comes and what you make like seem cheaper but its a VERY HIGH chance we ran out of what you need. At least imo three days before the holidays get what you need and go.

No New Posts   Kroger you suck! I did not think there would be a day I would need a dr note for my shoes! yes shoes!

March 23, 2024

I didn't use to mind kroger even sucked them up when they did some really half-@$$ed things but they're sort of crossing a line where I now need a dr note for slip resistant shoes. All because they're forcing shoes  for crews merchandise. I tried them a long time ago and my feet just hated them. I'm getting hara---ssed by our hr rep (seem to be singled out) about not having shoes sold from shoes for crews. Now I have to get a bloody dr note for my damn shoes. I'm sorry kroger but that one is going too far. Shoes for crews does not work for my narrow feet and they do not sell narrow shoes.

No New Posts   Unethical conduct

August 13, 2011

Our store's co-manager has had sex with our MIC.  The co-manager has also had sex with one of HR reps.  In additon, the co-manager has sent pictures of themselves and spouse having sex from a cell phone to our previous front end manager.  Our store manager is aware of the behaviors of this co-manager.  Nothing has been done regarding this matter.

No New Posts   Dumb ass causes bigtime shrink

March 12, 2012

I had to dry mop a small mess because the frozen case was leaking. Two of the mop buckets were filled with damaged product. The reason they were filled is because there is a total idiot on the grocery crew with a don't-give-a-**** attitude to boot. Another guy on the grocery crew helped me empty one of them out, and after he scanned out all of the damaged product I found out that over $50 worth was no good. All that over one or two of the items that were damaged in the case. And this idiot has been here for a while and will probably still be instead of being fired. no

No New Posts   clogging the toilet (on purpose) revisited

April 27, 2024

I want to address employee retaliation against Kroger management.

Since it's illegal to have cameras in the restroom, what's stopping a disgruntled employee from retaliating against an atheistic manager that manages with a "anything is fair game" mentality?

Is there a way to clog the upstairs manager's office restroom sh-tter without getting caught?  Looking for ideas including tampering with the manager's car in the parking lot.

No New Posts   cashier suspended but it wasn't their fault

March 10, 2024

A Kroger Cashier was suspended after a customer used a family memeber's kroger card which had the employee discounts, It was NOT the cashier's kroger card or employee discount, and it was NOT the cashier's fault. She is suspended until the Union makes a decision to fire the cashier or let them continue to work. I have seen this happen many times and nobody has ever said anything until now.

How does everyone feel or think about this?

No New Posts   New items in the bakery

May 11, 2024

The new bowties and bowtie coffee cakes we make are really good. Everybody in the department liked them. The pre-made croissants filled with either apple, cream cheese, or raspberry filling are horrible. Nobody in the department liked them.

April 14, 2024

Unfortunately Im not going into too much details but its been an ongoing problem since I started working in Grocery and these two girls have been entirely into bullying me about my hair ( black American women) (I am also a black American woman) from it being in its natural puff or Afro or if I get braids or anything . Of course their supervisor knows and has reported and has got on them numerous times but they still go back and bully.  We dont have a SM due to our SM was fired ( rumors had it sue to stealing money) but I did put in a report to ethics which someone told me to do but if thats doesnt work can I report them above like law enforcement or something?

No New Posts   Kroger doesn't care. Our department has been garbage for months and they spoof it up for corporate.

May 10, 2024

Our department, is short staffed, high turn over, over worked staff, cut hours (not one person is f.t.) and management grumbles about sh---it not getting done. Load orders mucked up and often shorted on product because no one knows how the f* to place an order..... After 5 months of our department looking like sh--it corporate comes in this week and they "spoof it up" with a fast sweep and "get it up to standards". Dear corporate: you get a **** show fantasy view of your stores then it goes back to s---hit after you leave. cr--ap like this is why employees have stopped caring.

No New Posts   kroger horror stories!!?

May 15, 2017

looking for any ridiculous stories or experiences that you or a friend have had with working at krogers. my managers were insane and terrible i just want to see how many other kroger workers had unbelievable experiences working there.

if your interested in mine i have plenty but my favorite is when my deli department head, was standing in front of the computer and phone area, as she always was, and i was making sandwiches, the phone rang, right in front of her while she was doing NOTHING as usual,  and this woman literally turns to me and asks me to answer it. i thought it was a joke but she was so serious. that sums up my whole experience working with her tbh

Why do people respond to posts that are weeks. months, or even years old?  Don't they look at the date of the original post and realize that the issue has either already been resolved or the poster has moved on?
