I had a customer who was on her phone the entire time during her transaction, including after she paid. So I bagged her groceries in plastic, but she got pissy and said that she wanted paper. So how do you deal with customers like this, especially when they are still on their phone after paying?
tl;dr: title. I work at a Kroger near Nashville and have been since last year. As a mixed clerk, I put every ounce of effort I possibly can into ensuring that the customer's experience is as smooth and efficient as possible. I don't like to brag, but I'm definitely one of the fastest baggers and cashiers...
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and I wasn't really sure how to go about this, so I came here hoping for some helpful advice. I hesitated about posting, but I slapped my hands over my eyes and just clicked submit. This hasn't really happened to me before, and maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing, bu...
The period of being able to report this has passed, I was afraid to post it because it's kind of detailed and i didn't want to be identified, but I want advice on this situation as it could happen to me again, and i want to be prepared. I transferred from the worst store in the state, to a training store. Our S...

We have a serious problem where I work of information never getting where it needs to be. None of these issues have been addressed, let alone fixed, for months. 1. The store is a newer one, but was designed a little over a decade ago, and the next nearest competitor closed only a few months ago. We have way...
And do they say hello to you back? I noticed that when I'm on register, 50% of customers don't say hello or acknowledge my existence when I say hello to them. But when a supervisor or manager is on the register, ALL the customers say hello to them.
I've been told that the delay on me getting the Lead/Head position in the Deli is the training program. Supposedly there is a new training program for the Lead being worked on and isn't completed yet. I was also told by Store managers that I didn't have to write a LOI (Letter of Interest) for the positi...

Been in the meat department for my whole time at Kroger, but I am in a store that is 45 mins from me and have a very bad co workers now and it's a prime store. Should I bid to closer store? but what have to be different departmen because meat not opening anytime soon
So our new front end manager is ignoring our own store policies, as they typically do. Typically, my store only wants you to call in if you are running a fever (which I am) and you can miss 2-3 days before they demand a doctors note. So, running a high fever and comiting, I call in and she instead demands a...
