Next time I get a cold I'll skip a week of work too if our other staff can.
(Preview)
I'm fed up with the unfairness at this company. We have two staff out in my department and both are claiming "colds or flues". Good f* I am so fed up with the unfairness at this company. If I have to work sick, you should too. Not only does this show what side of the equation you stand on it shows to your team me...

My coworker better go to her damn appointment this time if she doesn't that's it I'm done playing the schedule game
(Preview)
I usually don't mind being a team player, my coworker says she doesn't lie and her speach says that but her actions also dictate other wise. More than once she's asked to change or alter shifts. I usually don't mind but she's always asking last minute. More than once she's said "I have a major medical app...

You people suck when you call out left and right.
(Preview)
Please show up to work and stop calling out repeatedly. Thank you. When you call out repeatedly it puts the work load on your coworkers and it becomes clear that you dont need the job all that badly. Please quit if you are going to call out for more than 20% of your shifts. That works out to one call out a we...

What was Christmas Eve like in your store?
(Preview)
Our 6PM close went very smoothy. One of our managers was turning away people that wanted to come in literally at the last minute to shop. Announcements were made aprox 45 minutes before closing and every 15 minutes our FES would do a reminder. I swung by Publix when I got off (they closed at 7PM) and I left...

Obnoxious Instacart Shoppers that don't speak English

We had an issue last Monday night where I got halfway thru the order then she tells me it's Instacart. Had to void out the whole damm thing. There needs to be a limit of ONE Instacart per order. At my old store we had a FULL TIME employee just doing such orders. These people hold up regular customers some tha...

I hate my time sick time accruing. It's hella slow.
(Preview)
On the old esced website, the sick pay equation would average 8 hrs for every 40 worked. On this new system it sucks. I average 32 hrs a week and I only gain about 1.25 hrs for every 8 hrs worked. It would take a year of not calling out once to accrue a full damn bank. I did call the union about this when we first s...

Glad scheduler is saying no more preferential scheduling. This is what got our old manager in trouble.

Finally some success in our store where the old manager began encouraging preferential scheduling. After numerous ethics reports for gender discrimination it was another nock against him and what got him fired in the long run. Unless an individual's restrictions generate a specific schedule, y...

Getting tired of cultures that price barter or take advantage of mark downs.
(Preview)
I've repeatedly had to put my foot down about the rules about why we can't modify, change or "make up a price" on items. I've had to repeat crack down on repeat offenders who take advantage of mark downs to the extreme. I don't mind doing this from time to time but each time you come in is getting old and irri...

Valentine's Day stuff already
(Preview)
We got Valentine candy in three weeks ago, before we even got through Christmas. Today the bakery got in 50 cases, give or take one or two, of Valentive cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and heart shaped cakes. Valentine's Day is 46 days away. That's nearly seven weeks away. It was so much better when w...
