So I was hired as a Courtesy Clerk a few weeks ago. I've completed my online training lessons and attended Orientation. HR told me my first day is tomorrow which will consist of being paired with another employee to train with. The Main Issue I have is they never gave me a uniform, therefore don't know wh...
I recently finished my online computer training. Which honestly wasn't very helpful to my position. Does Kroger give other training to cashiers? Or do they just put you on the schedule and expect you to learn it yourself? Also, any tips would be helpful as well.
Our deli/bakery is awful. Does anyone else have these problems? -our dishwasher doesn't use soap and hasn't for over a year. The alarm on it goes off every time you turn it on. I actually didn't know it wasn't supposed to sound like that until a new guy told me and a few others about it. It's been like that f...
"Our division has paid out $13 million dollars in 2015 to associates throughout the division for giving their customers a friendly & fresh shopping experience" Can I call bull****. I'm assuming this means our bonuses? My store is in midsouth division and always has one of the highest scores...
Today I had orientation and we we're learning to clock in and out. However, for me it was a bit more difficult. For some reason the fingerprint didn't pick up for me. After several tries, with different fingers. Finally, my thumb worked. It couldn't have bee the machine, because it workes for others. N...
The stress of the pharmacy is getting to me (phones, angry customers, drive-through, hot/cold conditions due to the drive through being on the west side of the building). It's gotten to the point where i dread coming in to work each day and even have ibuprofen in my car and personal storage area in the s...
So...our dress code does not allow leggings or jogging pants, yet the very young c.c's get away with this...anybody else have this dress code? And people getting away with not following?
I don't know about other stores, but for the past couple of months, I've had customers thinking we fill the grab & go with leftovers form the day before. When I inform customers about the grab&go so they don't have to wait, they respond with " I don't want yesterday's leftovers, I want my stuf...
At my store the managment are bitching constantly about the cashiers scan rates, and how we need to get them up so there will be more hours for the front end, and how we need to get them up before that que vision stuff begins. While I don't work on the register that often, I have a few friends that do. And no...
All depts running on a skeleton crew. They never want to give us help or hire people even though they announce that they are hiring over the intercom 40 ****ing times in a 8 hour work day. Then you have someone in your Dept that gets sick or has to have surgery and your ****ed. Managers then ask why the work i...

Took me and another department manager from another store working several overnights to pass muster. Exactly how are you supposed to keep those standards everyday when you have to do extraordinary things to get there in the first place?
I have been working for 1 month in the GM department. The department has been short-handed for quite some time and in fact the manager started the week before I did...he had not been working in a grocery store in the past but is a very nice man and seems to be a leader kind of guy. So the department was kind o...
Hello, I have a question dealing with Kroger's disciplinary actions when it comes to call ins and walking off the job without telling management. Note - This is for a friend of mine. My friend has been employed with Kroger for almost two years now. They are in the grocery department. Started off as a co...
I am writing a paper about Kroger. Here are some questions we are going to address in the paper. What type of reward/recognition system does Kroger have in place? Describe leadership structure? How is conflict managed in store? Are there any programs to manage employee stress? How does Kroger meas...
I'm moving in August and there are no Kroger locations in that area. But I searched using the Kroger website and Payless popped up so I'm assuming Payless is owned by Kroger? So does anyone know if it's possible to transfer? Otherwise I'll just be quitting, with notice of course.
