An employee just up and goes back to their home country and last minute enacted fmla. We still need to be respectful because of the situation. They quoted "No eta of return." Company policy gives 3 days for local and a week for non-local. How do we address managment to get us a filler until they return? Ou...
We had a. Walk through today and lets just say my store is a mess. DM got on my store manager ass and he turn his keys in and left. Glad hes gone tired of him bullying and showing favoritism to this one employee cuz they are related. Now I wonder whos on a be at our store manager atm?
I've been with other companies that have used my time and it does not give employees livable paychecks. It is not the best system to write schedules. This system just reduced employee hours about 20%. Good lord one restriction severely penalizes your hours. Only request days off you truly need unles...
My store had a shake up and multiple people requiring on slipping through the cracks to survive are no longer with the company. We've lost about 6 people since we got a new manager about 8 months ago(Nov 23). Troubled employees are gone. Those requiring slipping through management turn over are gone....
I've lost track of how many store managers I've worked along side with at my current location. We've probably had 10+ in a six year time frame. Staff is less than pleased with where the store is going and quitting or transferring out. I'm enacting my back up plan. I've given this company almost two decad...
Should the baker be able to bake all the bread, make the donuts, bag all the bread, put away the frozen food order, and do the breakout for the next day all in 7 1/2 hours? ( that's an 8-hour shift minus two 15-minute breaks)
Our department already short on staff... Our lead was forced on fmla for 12 weeks. Highly doubtful he will return upon completion. So, until then we get to be short staffed running on coal fumes and have to wait for corporate to decide if he will be able to return to work or not. So for the next 2 friggen mon...
My son who is 16 has no idea what he was doing and opted into the union. They made it sound great- well the free chips they gave and the offers of lower kings island tickets won him over until he started getting almost 18 taken out every pay check! W The kid only works 4-5 hours a week! what can be done about...
How much is too much? Coworker requests shift swap every week. Generally I don't mind if the individual is reliable as I've been on the short end of the stick a few times. I don't mind to a degree. I have a few coworkers that want to change shifts almost every week. If they are reliable and I am not doing anyt...
I dont shop at Kroger because Walmart has more, better, and cheaper options for everything.. and I dont have to dive for the mute button every commercial break so I dont have to hear these annoying Kroger commercials, with these overplayed, outdated songs, with the smug looking animated stupid look...
Our store recently had a cleaning of employees with shaky work histories. Several of with I've worked along side with 8+ years. These people did their job duties very well and they eventually got them on some sort of technicality. Just because you're in the union does not mean you're 100% safe. It just...
The old system you use to be able to view them from the server and now you can't. I'm not always on a computer I wish to download my pay stubs to (ie the company computers, public computers at libraries or even on a tablet) that doesn't allow downloads. How the hell do you view paycheck stubs without downlo...
Hi Everyone, Anyone here work for Kroger back in the 1991 - 1993 timeframe? If so, do you remember listening to P.O.P. Radio/In-Store Broadcasting Network? What did you think of it? Also, do you know of any tapes that exist that your store played in P.O.P Radio's special cassette player? Regards, Kro...
Due to my time mucking up the schedule again I'm going to have to call out a couple times in April for appointments that are non-reschedulable and a few events I can not miss as well. I really, really, really don't give a f* with this company any more. Oh, if you people are not willing to work with my schedul...
The other day I had a customer scold me about one station being out of twist ties. We only get in so many and had zero in the back. Made an incredibly rude comment about it and was annoyed when I told him we didn't have any more in the back. Please don't be this person. Even though he was able bodied he refused t...
As Im pacing back and forth in the liquor dept, Im thinking of our store is so short staffed realities, but in the form of those yo mama jokes. Our store is so short staffed I gotta put post it notes on the liquor doors that say (bathroom break. Be back in 5 min).
Thanks to quadratics for giving us so many chances to say "Not Applicable", cause that's what this tihs is. How long do I plan to work here? Not saying. There is open and honest two-way communication at this company. Hell no. My workplace is a safe place to work. FU. My company conduct its business acti...
You're loosing staff left and right to being short staffed and enduring toxic environments. You can't keep staff long term because of the horrid pay. Your company is enacting fantasy environments from the office that do not work with the real world and if we don't comply you start writing us up. Your...
