First off, I'd like to say that this is my first job. I've been working as a cashier for a little over a month now. About three weeks ago, my dad had a stroke and was taken to the hospital. Upon arrival he had a second stroke and he was kept there for a week while he recovered. It happened on a Saturday night, an...
ive been put in to do cashier training again after 4 weeks as a courtsey clerk, I will apparently be cross trained but just wondered would I be getting paid still as a CC or as a cashier? Any tips/advice for becoming a cashier?
I am usually assigned to the express lane when I get to work. Today I was told that I need to increase my ring tender. What are some ways to do this at the express lane?
The new year is approaching and the time to transfer is ripe. I am a full time produce clerk. I'm interested in transferring to get away from the toxic and extremely stressful work environment I'm in now. Store manager already said I am ok to transfer, I just have to go talk to management at the store I wan...
Well last night a customer tipped me 2$ . In the 7 months I have been here , he was the only one to tip me . He gave it to me while I was bagging , he slid it on the piece under the bags and whispered "Just between us". If I got tipped a 1$ or 2$ by every customer I baggeed for or who's car I loaded or who's sh...
Over the past few months I've been working mostly 6 day work weeks or 6 days straight. I only get paid $9/hr. I'm full time also. I understand that my department needs somebody like me to assist since I'm full time and a great worker, but the workload, combined with the 30 minute travel, lack of pay, monot...
So it was brought to my attention that I may become status 3 soon. my question is what happens if I can only work 24 hours in the Spring due to school. Can I lose status 3 if I drop to a certain amount of hours? during the Summer I can still work 40 hours
Hi everybody, Had a quick question, which most likely could be answered once I look into it more in my contract. But I was just curious over all as to how many times employees can be written up in general? I ask because, I guess do to getting tired of telling the majority of us in the bakery the same thing ove...
Everything about the bakery sucks well sometimes or most of the time if you have enough people it doesn't but when it's just you and a lazy ass department manager and crazy ass store manager it's pretty sucky.
Is it normal practice to fire an employee still within the probation period by leaving them off schedule but never telling them that they are being let go?
Last week i worked 15 hours including 5 hours on thanksgiving, I got my check today and I've only been paid for 10 hours. Who should I speak to at my store about this? Will I be able to get paid for them 5 hours? I did clock in but it must not of registered it, ive only been working there 3 weeks.
Hey everybody, So tomorrow is D-day for our store, as we are hosting the holiday walk thru from Corporate. As a relatively new employee still, I have no clue what that means all that much. Other than that they will have techs check out our freezer and say how it is supposed to look(I'm in the bakery, and wi...
I work as an hbc clerk. I flirt with a co manager bc he's very attractive! He flirts with me back bc we are both single and young. It's just innocent flirting but, I don't really see anybody else at my store being flirty with management! I try not to flirt with him in front of anybody else. Is this okay to be f...
I'm in the meat department. The end of the meat department is right next to the dairy department, and dairy is never there. Customers always ask us to find stuff in the dairy cooler. Like 5 times in a 4 hour shift. I have zero idea where anything (except for milk) in there is. I go in, and unless I see it obv...
