I am a courtesy clerk and I was assigned sweeps from 6-8 am. The front end kept calling me for orders they can bag themselves. How can I log my sweeps if they keep bugging me?!? I am very much safety/task oriented, and I just want to get my sweeps logged properly. What I been doing lately is ignoring the call...
I currently work as a cashier and I was wanting to get a wrist tattoo that represents my religion. It's small and almost unnoticeable. Will this effect my job? Does Krogers have a policy about tattoos?
I called in sick yesterday and the manager said I had to bring in a doctors note. I've called in exactly one time in the three years I've worked there. Another time I went home early because I was throwing up in the trash can at the register and a customer complained lol! I know in our employee handbook s...
Hey everyone. I'm just curious, how much money do you guys make where you're at? Apc's make 7.90-13.30 (old contract guys are something like 16.75) Add a dollar to the top pay for being an assistant department head Grocery managers make 50,882 starting. Its exempt salary, my old grocery manager wou...
It started with the coke machine. They filled it with dented Big K sodas. Then they took the machine away. We used to have those good paper towels in the box, the brown folded ones. Now we have those huge rolls they use in the restrooms. They are so thin and cheap you have to use twice as many. The bott...
Hi so I am starting my first day working at Kroger as a Courtesy Clerk in Front End. I am 16 in high school, and this is my first job so I am excited. Well could someone tell me like the do's and don'ts and what to expect, and also some bagging tips. I was told to build walls in your bags, but I know that most of the...
I had my first day today and feel like I barely made it out alive. I had no idea how much crap Drug/GM has to stock. It was made worse by the fact that I didn't know where anything was so I was sitting there dumbfounded looking through the shelves forever. Every u-boat I pushed seemed to have boxes topple ove...
Earlier this week all of the paper towel and toilet paper dispensers in my store was replaced and today they replaced all the markdown printers with new wireless ones. Nothing was wrong with the paper dispensers and the old printers were in good shape. Last week the store finally fixed a drain probl...

So after being wrongfully terminated my union rep has issued me four weeks of back pay for time missed. He called my manager this morning and set it up, so I'm thinking it should go through on this coming weeks paycheck, so hopefully I'll get it Friday. I'd love to get it before Christmas. Anyone know how...
So here's the basics: I'm on the overnight grocery crew. My dept manager was stepped down from the position two years ago before regaining the position a few months ago. She orders more than we can put up in an 8 hour shift. Her solution to that is to try and get everyone to stay longer. My problem is that m...
So I'm a deli clerk. The last hired in my store. Wevw since lost 3 pt and 1 ft person. The reason given for no new hires is the low starting pay. I believe that completely. If we can't hire ppl doesn't this make the next year pure hell for workers? Without the union pay scale we could actually hire the p...
Krogers is so concerned about quevision, how about a problem they've been having for years, the customer service line? There are four cash registers up there but generally there's only one person ever working at a time. Maybe on a good day two. If someone in front of you starts a western union order or s...
I'm a front end supervisor, and was told by management that only men are allowed to push carts after sunset (which is like 5pm now), for "safety" reasons. This sounds ridiculously sexist and inefficient, do y'all know if this is Kroger policy or just the usual management dumbness?
We've had a peppermint overload in the bakery. We have 5 buckets of peppermint icing. We have peppermint brownies, peppermint cupcakes, peppermint bark, several varieties of peppermint cookies. We even have peppermint donuts. The only peppermint thing we don't have is peppermint bread.
Last month as I was getting about halfway through my probationary period, I was called and asked to change department from overnight grocery to produce, being told it was because "there weren't enough hours to give me in that department" a few days later, the manager told me that the rea...
So anyways... I work @ 642 in Harrisburg Illinois, and I was wondering how one goes about getting weekends off without limiting ones availability. Seems to me that we have a couple of people....really only one that irks the **** out of me....that can only work certain hours through the week and can't w...
I have to laugh then shake my head when i head the advertisment talk about working in kroger. "flexible hours"/paid vacations.....then you hear the word "career" when they tell you where to apply online. This is a job but very few can make this a career!
