Cut our hours but hire new people? Blow smoke up my ass constantly. I love my fellow department associates, and my department manager, but all upper management creep me out. When a manager can't spell clearance or management correctly I have mini break downs. When I'm told with my HR degree and work et...
So, I was curious about the high volume stores with multiple department heads for each department and how they work. Take grocery for example, how do they divvy up grocery manager responsibilities? It seems like it'd be a debacle. Having multiple people ordering, seems like conflicting opinio...
when ones probation period is up, he or she gets an elvaluation. Does one gt a pay raise with this too or just telling you how good or bad your doing? I am in North Texas Union Local 1000. thanks for your input and Happy Holidays
(that didn't get you in trouble) I needed to shred a sensitive card that was white and laminated. My override card looked very similar from behind. You can see where this went, lord knows I didn't. They were just concerned that about it being lost and I'm like nope, I know where it is. In the shredder. (s...
So we voted on the new contract a couple months ago. When we went to vote there was nothing in there about having a set day off. Come to find out it has changed and nobody can havr an unavailable day. This is absurd!! The union lady said you can lose your full time and insurance?!?!? What? Doesn't make sense...
So I get a call and was asked if I can stay later. Okay, that's not too bad because there would be one other person closing with me right? Except this one person called out. And no one else can work (or willing to work until 10pm). So guess who is going to have to make sure everything is clean...ALONE fo...
Can someone tell me why we're not allowed to decorate? I remember in the past Kroger would have tinsel all around the store and on every aisle. Each year we have done less than the year before and now we're not even allowed to put up stockings or a tree. We have a box for employees to put Christmas cards f...
They have to honor your availability, right? Our front end manager just put up a notice saying that all students will be considered to have open availability until January. We're not a Christmas destination type store, you wouldn't need all of us on demand if you'd replace the 3 people who have quit in...
no hours for the people we have and stores closing yet hiring and hold job fairs ? I know things are backwards at kroger but this one has even customers asking
You ever forget someone's coupons and/or s/he hands them to you after you already tendered him/her out and they look at you like you're a frickin criminal? Dude, it's like 80 cents savings. If you cared about your coupons so much maybe you could have mentioned them before I told you to swipe your card. Y...
Am I the only one who has issues with the time clock? I put my log in information into the machine and follow the directions to put my index finger on the spot. The machine beeps back at me ,telling me my id cannot be verified. What am I doing wrong?
My store is always cold and it seems like the air conditioning is on instead of the heat. I was sitting in our break room yesterday, and a blast of icy cold air was coming from the vents. I was told that management had no control over this, and that the temperature is actually regulated from a central loc...
I am a assistant manager, and I'd like to say a few things: Courtesy Clerks: 1. When we call you to bag, we mean now. Not when you feel like it. Yes, I know we all have jobs to do, and whe you may be busy, you need to remember CUSTOMER FIRST. Without them, you'd be unemployed. So unless you are on a break, off t...
So what is the deal with vendors? The lady that hired me was telling me about all the different brands stocked by vendors. I had no idea so many things were brought in and stocked by outside companies. Are there many things in the Drug/GM dept. that are done by vendors? I found this interesting.
Hey all. I'm a grocery head clerk, and I make a one dollar premium above the top pay rate , and am full time. I was pretty much at the bottom pay rate before I got the head clerk position, and part time. If I step down after 1 year being head clerk, will I keep my f/t and top pay rate, just lose the premium? The re...
Well, after about 2.5 years of bouncing around at different jobs, I am now back working at Kroger. I remembered this forum and how I used to waste time on the store computer reading posts back in the day. So here I am. Back once again. This job is something easy I can do while going to school, so that's my exc...
hello, I received a wow buck about a week ago lol and I'm on the great people.me website under the wow buck section, and I'm all the way to the checkout but I cannot for the life of me find out where I am supposed to enter the code on the back of my wild book so that I may complete my purchase. The only thing that i...
This company makes a little under 2 BILLION a year and yet each and every year, or in the case of District Q, every new contract, they come up with ways of getting rid of full-timers and firing people willy nilly. This is a company I've spent 15 years of my life with, and credit them to pulling me off the stre...
I was told during orientation that as a part-timer in produce I would receive 1 blue shirt and an apron. I could buy additional blue shirts if I wanted for $8 a piece. Is this true and if so does one go thru the store or have to order them from some...
