Can I be forced to accept a promotion? Sounds strange I know...but here's the set-up. My dept. mgr. (Produce) is a real working mgr. He works just as hard, actually harder, than any of the other dept. employees. He's a great guy, very understanding, works with us on scheduling, but nevertheless he ex...

Is there any reason we have to listen to the pear whore all night when the store is closed? Does anyone else want to kill this bitch?

I would like someone who works for Kroger in the Detroit Metro area to tell me what the pay scale is for Meat Cutters at your store. I know this is a union store covered by I think its UFCW but not sure what local. Do cutters start at minimum wage to go up to say $20 per hour after like 10 years or something ? H...

When we print out the till report at the the beggining of the shift and write the cash total in the log, what does that number even mean? Is it the amount of money in all the machines and the attendent's till or what? And there's a section where we have to write the difference or something. I just forgot what...

Over the past several years, I've noticed a big change in management. I don't necessarily mean the unit and co-managers, but their bosses. They don't listen like they use to. Now, the only ones they seem to listen to are dept. heads & the in-store mgmt. It's a shame, really. If you're not one of the b...

Well here in wonderful Cincinnati at the newly remodeld Maderia store, they just rolled out the latest, greatest futuristic deli ordering system. I am really ticked off. I was suppose to be off till Wednesday because I had asked to take a personal day on Tuesday. However, they scheduled me to work on Tuesday because my co-worker has a big order going out Tuesday and apparently I'm the only one who can help her, even though there are plenty of oth...

My local stores are co-opting a food and community volunteer based clothing drive. Very noble........but what bothers me is that, two of the associates I spoke to claimed their hours were "mysteriously cut" by five hours/week for the next two weeks, and that this is supposedly going to b...

To my great dismay, the screens they installed on the ceilings in the front aren't going to show cartoons, but rather the new QueVison thing. Can anyone give me a general low down on how these work/help? Lately, managment has really been pushing for u-scan attendents to pull over customers in long lin...
