Well maybe promised is an overstatement, but anyway here's the story. We recently learned our store is closing "because the location failed to meet sales expectations," according to a local news article. I'm not sure what that means, but I DO know it means I'm out of a job. Well, maybe....

What are Kroger's rules regarding the use of smokeless tobacco by employees while on the clock and/or while on Kroger property? My store manager turns a blind eye to this problem and allows a few employees, including a dept. mgr. to chew & spit while on duty. They do this even in our tiny lunch roo...

If anyone out there has a scanner and the time, (I know we're all busy!) I'd love to see the appomatox/farmville, raleight-durham, and richmond-tidewater contracts. They aren't available online like many of the others are. It's interesting to see the many differences when you spend time diggin...

Does anyone know exactly what formula they use for ELMS? I know that items per minute is a big part of it, but I also know that transation time and customers per hour have something to do with it along with some other things.

Has anyone else out there been noticing a lot of meeting going on at their stores? At mine, they had a meeting to teach the different generations of employees how to work together, and how front end supervisors can talk to the younger ones. Seem to me that since our contract is up this fall they are goin...

A woman came up to the bakery counter and wanted a cake written on. She looked at the 1/4 sheet cakes for $15.99 and said Costco has cakes twice this size for this price. I told her this isn't Costco. Another time a guy came up and wanted to know if we were going to reduce the price on a pie because the crust...

The store I work at just had both the first of the month and senior Wedensday all in one day. We were super busy and had a hard time keeping the carts up to speed. To top it off our lazy baggers were there. So as fate would have it, it was the last hour of my shift and I had lot duty after one of the lazy baggers. I ha...

I've been debating whether or not to post this for about a week now. I've viewed this board as not only a source of very good information regarding things that haven't reached our region yet, but as a place to share input and help other employees. I also include nocturnia even though he is with Wal-Mar...

We have 4 employees whom recently were caught eating an item off the shelf a few nights ago by risk management. They said it was a sample but it was an hour before close so I doubt they buy that. The one girl is on camera getting the items and the other 3 just Were eating it. They were told they'd know in 10 day...

We were given a cookout for having so many days without an accident and guess what. They served strawberry creme cakes and nobody from the bakery complained about it.
