I just got promoted to being the service director of my store. The previous hiring manager can't get it through her head that I am now the person to hire new employees. Everyday I get phone calls asking for the hiring manager, and I let them know it's me. They then tell me that they thought it was this other...

If it wasn't for some of the people I work with, I probably would have been searching for a new job elsewhere by now. I generally like my job because most of my coworkers are likeable. With that said, after nearly 2 1/2 years of service, I've started to become aware that I don't like it as much as I used to....

I wanted to know if there are any REAL benefits for part time employees at Kroger. I know that getting full time status is virtually impossible as you have to average 38 hours per week for 16 weeks except for July and August. So how much vacation time do part timers get, how much is the medical insurance...

at your store does "elms" allocate a fair amount of hours per department? I say this because I know that even though there is a "formula" it all has to do with which department heads are the pets. Our deli has more people than any other department (except maybe front end). Ther...

In the Detroit area, Kroger and Meijer are covered by the same union but with much different contracts. Would it be possible to work at both places or would the union have something to say about that ? Would there be any problems other than paying twice as much in dues to the same union ? Would one of the...

1. The anti-theft system that goes off about 345,974 times a day. The meat we have sets off the system all the time and I'm starting to hear it in my sleep. The thing is, nobody higher up tries to fix it. I can't even imagine how much has been stolen from our store. We just wave people through and don't even ch...

I am just going to rant for a sec . . . Blow off some steam. I love talking directly to executive managment. They hate it! They don't like it when somebody at a low level, such as myself, speak directly to them. It bruises their ego, you can tell. They think to themselves, "Who is this peasant, and how d...
