So my girlfriend thinks she may have hurt her back, and needs to go to the er, and I work today, i tried to call in to get the shift covered, and the store assistant manager refused, saying that there is no one that can cover that shift, and i will have to find someone else to take her. There is no one else, she...
Our fuel center is one of the few that has a bathroom.. Thank God since we are never given breaks or lunches... I am not exeggerating, in the last year not once have I or any of my co workers been given a break or a lunch. The other issue is we store food display carts in the bathroom at closing.. Our fuel cent...
I had my first evening shift recently, I worked morning shifts for my first 2 weeks of employment, I was the only one working in the grocery dept that night. A truck comes in, I have zero experience unloading the truck at this point, and have used the powerjack for all of 5 minutes (and that is probably an e...
Everyone in my store thinks something is going on between them. He's always talking to her and helping her out in her department and it's so obvious that if there isn't anything creepy going on between them, he's at least picking favorites. She doesn't get most of her work done but she seems to think she...
HAHAHAHAHAHA......I think y'all will like this! So a little while ago I was shopping at a Kroger off my beaten path; in short order I noticed that every. single. ONE. of the employees I came within 10 feet of were all ¨hi, how are you today? Anything I can help you find?¨ Nice, but wicked annoying. And it h...
I've worked at Kroger for about 2 years now in the produce department and i'm really getting tired of some of the people I work with.. almost all of the night crew is terrible to work with (I mainly work nights and am getting tired of being asked why it looks bad the next morning). My side always looks good a...
So I requested this coming Wednesday off and it was approved. This morning I find out that I'm scheduled to work on this day, plus outside of my long standing (since 2010) availability time frame (8-5). I have same situation coming up on the following Wednesday and Thurs. Preapproved, and I want to sc...
In thinking about where to shop in order to support decent treatment of human beings and to boycott the institutionalized abuse Krogrr doles out to its workers, a top-five list came up. The Best 5 Grocery Companies To Work For Nice start, but we could use a longer (if possible) list. Whole Foods is lay...
The whole "relief cashier" concept is bull $hit. Two days this week really put me over the edge, I was up for at least 2.5 hours Monday ( I didn't even get back to my department before they called my up for a steady hour) and 3 hours the other day( someone called off and I was their "solution...
So, the Kroger I work at has apparently always struggled with 'meh' OSAT. To counter this, they replaced the lead manager with someone else, OSAT kept dropping, then in a huddle early this week, the new manager mentioned an 'ultimatum' from the district manager to get OSAT up ten points within a week....
Really? What a waste of money. It was right by the bakery too so we had the worst time trying to hear what the customers were saying when they were trying to place orders. The customers just seemed confused about what was going on.
I was wondering if anybody knew how much Kroger pays mystery shoppers. this is not right that people is allowed to come in and try to get employees in trouble by saying anything they want to and the employees gets told the customer is always right about everything. these people needs to get a real job. cu...
We're all familiar with IHOP, but one breakfast/diner chain called "Waffle House" has a pretty good footing throughout the South. And now I'd like to ask, for those that have eaten at one or both of these establishments, which do you prefer, and why? It could be anything from just the name...
I am sick of hearing how Walmart needs to make more money and the UFCW is backing them. In our town they start at $9.00 and may start up to $2.00 higher depending on experience. Many people at Kroger work for years to make what Walmart's starting salary. Our pay is joke and we are paying union dues so our uni...
I was just given my employee discount plus card (after two months of working at Kroger). Today, I used my card at another Kroger and bought a few Kroger brand items that it did not take off. We have a 10% discount in my district. My question is - does it take time for the card to get set up and loaded with the di...
If I use Kroger as a reference in a job application for work history, will the Kroger manager or who ever tell the new job that I was terminated? Or could the new job find out through background check?
So preface: It was a nine hour shift, and afterwards I had to do some light shopping. I just about passed out from heat exhaustion yesterday, and I've been dealing with the aftereffects all day. I even left my keys in the bathroom for like an hour. Anyways when I was going through self-checkout the girl o...
