Nothing like spending an hour doing an order only for a manager to undo all of that. . . Situation: It's 2 days til inventory. I DECREASED my order by 90 percent. I then went back on the floor to go down the aisle and add whatever I will need/keep any good sellers from being holes. 161 when I decreased. 241 wh...
i am trying to request two weeks off no pay - have already talked to schedule writer about it - but i have a question. when i go online to request the time, do i have to fill out an individual request for each day i want off or can i select a group of days?? it looks to me like i have to do each day
so I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but bear with me. I just started as a produce clerk a couple weeks ago. I really despise it. It's not for me. Would it be out of line for me to talk to my recruiting manager about getting a different position? If not, I will stick it out but I need some kind of a routin...
I just recently started working at Kroger. I'm a courtesy clerk, so yeah, I'm everyone's b*tch. For the past week I did what was supposed to be called 'training'. I personally wouldn't consider it training because I basically went out onto the floor myself and began bagging, grabbed carts when told...
I've been working as a courtesy clerk at my local kroger store for a little over three weeks, and as a new employee, I'm on a 30 day probation period. So last night I worked a closing shift (get the liquor caps from under the register, get go-backs from under the register, clean the registers, get all of th...
Hey I am trying to apply to Kroger Online for a store in District 1. But when I go to Kroger.com.. .its not wanting to work for me. Can someone please help me ASAP!!!! Thanks alot!!
This is an issue that's been plaguing our district(assuming everywhere) since the new year especially. All of the new resets are limiting our shelf space to as minimal as possible, making it literally impossible to keep fast moving product in the shelf. Most of all of our gatorades are now allocat...
I was asked to cover a shift this weekend inside as cashier. I told them I didn't know how to run the registers inside and they said that they'll give me two hours of training the day before the shift I'm supposed to cover. So my question is.. How hard is it to learn the registers? I work in the FC and the regis...
So i am coming up to a year working at kroger. I like it (I go to college to). One of our dairy guys left and they moved me to diary the next day and got told I would be there a week, then a manager told me I might stay there. I do not want to stay in dairy. They ignored my days that I need off for college classes. I hav...
Is unavailability like time requested, as in its just a request or what? I've had certain hours set as unavailable for awhile now because I can't work them but this week I was scheduled during those hours, what happens if I leave early?
We're busier than we've ever been. Every weekend our stores are packed full of pretty much everyone in town. We're slammed. The weekdays are nothing to sneeze at either. Yet every week they tell us our sales are down from last year and we're over budget and we're not doing our best to sell. If only we co...
I work in the deli (non-management) and I earn top pay, which is $13.65. I saw a job posting for "Level IV Toy Department Lead" at my store. I didn't even know that there was such a thing because I've never seen it on the list of department managers. I'm debating whether or not to apply for it. Do...
My question is when you work a shift and you and you have to go back in before 10 hrs they call it short time rest overtime say I work 8 hours is it suppose to be time and half for those 8 hrs if so how does this show up on your check stub...thks
I was having a chat with a co-worker of mine and I said that I don't understand why they can't get any bodies in the deli since we're short handed. The co-worker said that he spoke to one of the store managers and he said simply put: the costs. According to this store manager, it costs ~$1,000 per new hire...
The one thing I cannot stand is when a coworker from the Front End comes outside and asks me personal questions about my life. They then began to judge me when they don't know sh!t about me. Honestly I NEVER really speak about my personal life; That is why work is called 'work'. You go there, do 'work', and...
Since the creation of the third and fourth hiring tiers at Kroger it has become blatantly obvious that they wish to create a tension filled work place where turn over is increased. Low paid employers with little ability to advance to a higher rate and not enough hours to make a living are more likely to...
I worked at the Kroger in my area last summer as a bagger, and it seemed that most or all of the grocery clerks were men. I want to get into another department this summer, and I'm eying an overnight grocery clerk position. Would they be less likely to hire me in as a grocery clerk if I'm a girl?
I swear you would have thought it was the day before Thanksgiving or Christmas as busy as the store was today. The bakery usually does around $17,500 a week. As of Thursday, we were already over $20,000. I wouldn't be surprised if our sales were double what they normally are by the time the week is ove...
