My store lost power at quarter to 6 today, Eastern time. There was a transformer that blew on the grid that connects to the store's power. I've never been there when the power went out so I really had no idea what to do. Luckily, I got off at 6 so I didn't really have to deal with it long. It was just weird.
So you go and erase my post. I guess Kroger has control over this page. There was nothing wrong with my post. I wont be back. Here is some advice for you wise administraters....change the name of this site to YODEL.
The store that I work at was supposed to have a remodel. Now 2 weeks before the remodel we're told that it is on hold. they came and measured everything and had the plans. We were telling customers about this and was excited .Since it's on hold I know that means were not getting a remodel anymore. So how...
Hey guys, So I see on many of these posts that a lot of you work in Kroger stores that are part of the union, with pay that is lower than minimum wage or just bad. Does anybody else work at a Smith's? I don't know if it's like this everywhere, but the pay scale at our store is awesome... Baggers start at $8.25...
Just curious if other stores have changed night stock shifts from 10 to 6 to midnight to 8. Most everyone I know on 3rd works it for a reason. I've worked 10 to 6 for the past 15 years so I can be home to get my kids off to school and be available to them for whatever reason. I'm told the shift change
is " ne...
This is just a rant/rave post; There's this woman who works accounting and front end (She does mostly anything front end and accounting) and she's just a d*ck. She's the kind of person who loudly tells you that your card declined or your check didn't go through on purpose just to piss you off. Numerous...
Here's the deal. Wednesday's schedule: -Kroger 10:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. -Home Depot 2:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. Saturday's schedule: -Kroger 9:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. -Home Depot 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. I have never called out in my 14 months with Kroger. Yet, I will not have a choice if I can not switch out with a co-w...
I was recently interviewed and offered a job at a local Kroger, and I'm currently waiting to hear back about my drug test. They (the recruiter) said that I would get an e-mail from Verification Inc.(?) about it, but I'm not sure if my sample needs to arrive at the facility first, or if the email comes firs...
So the fuel center closes at 11:00, when the pumps shut down, but the lights shut off at 11:57 and that's when I hit "end shift" and started counting up my till. A customer came up at 11:58 wanting gas, but I was already closed and had to decline. Now she called the store manager and he says that I...

So my deli department has had only 5 new hires since I've been there, and only 2 remain. I just found out that one of them may be leaving in a couple of months. This is on top of someone else leaving in a month, and one person severely limiting her hours (she's only available 3 days a week now). And I'm cons...
I'm in a tight spot here. I've been sick as a dog, coughing so hard that it's strained my back. Last night while breaking down pallets I managed to make it so much worse. I've hurt my back before at home and had to miss a week of work. Now I've been told I'm in for a drug test and may have to be let go for missing to...

I had everything drug test, background check, copied Id , ss and birth certificate now I'm waiting on my background check it's still pending she called me yesterday evening telling me. I never did anything in my life bad so why hasn't it came up clear yet ??!! Its...
We used to close at 9, then we got a bunch of new managers and they decided "hey, we have workers in the deli til 10! Wouldn't it be great if we kept the deli open for customers until 10? Never mind the fact that it's impractical to have people clean the slicers only for a customer to walk up at 9:57 and as...
Does anyone else have a back room that's so cluttered and unorganized that you can't find anything because it's buried, hidden, damaged, or just in a pile of rubble? Does anyone else think elms is designed for a well maintained, smooth operating, well ran store, and not the fiasco of a back room. does...
I've been working at Kroger for only about 2 weeks now. I like to think I do a good job. I don't talk back to bosses, I'm nice to both coworkers and employees, and I do checking, bagging, and closing. However the past few days my work environment has been HELL. We have a supervisor who acts like she's a dicta...
What the hell. I went shopping at Sprouts yesterday and needed a few items from Kroger that I didn't get a Sprouts. I parked, walked up to the store and saw the meat dept. guy standing in front of Kroger on his smoke break. So I stopped to talk with him. I talked for a few minutes then noticed something...
