As we go on and start getting older, of all the changes and priority shifts that accompany aging, there's one thing that's getting more and more important and undeniable to me: T I M E. As in, for all the things ranging from great to terrible in our long term jobs, time is the one resource we can never truly...
For me i think dairy and frozen. Dairy is stressful because you have to keep the cooler organized, and stock yogurt and tiny items. Frozen has to keep up the freezer, and its really demanding unloading frozen pallets. Grocery has enough people to pick up any slack. Plus you dont have to work as fast. Del...
I will have my 30 days in tomorrow I work at the service desk. I'm just not remembering 'everything' that goes with the position One of the head clerks said my probation has been extended another thirty days. What happens if I still can't get it ? I don't want to get tired but I' m a 'mature' worker and...
Okay so I was a checker who got moved to customer service. I got trained but for some reason it seems they forgot to teach me everything. The money order machine is a password to open it and they didn't tell me that. For some reason it wont take my normal password. Then the make it right mission is way to fil...
I had my yearly evaluation today and I know in the grand scheme of things they don't mean a damn thing, but the one I got today has pissed me off. More specifically the attitude of the co-manager had during the whole process. Out of all the categories I either got satisfactory or needs improvement. I w...
I've misplaced my W2 and now I'd like to get an electronic W2. I've come across this website: https://www.w2express.com/ but as far as login information I don't know. I work for J983 in Westfield Indiana. Any helpful information would be great.
My family surprised me with a vacation to Disneyland. A place I Havnt been to since I moved out of California some about 4 years ago. Well, we got rooms and a plane ticket. Only for me to find my vacation's been blocked out due to "needs of business" in which they don't give a flying fart about i...
i know all of this is in the new hire packet, and it was all covered in orientation, but what is the policy for calling off? Can you get in trouble? I don't want to walk to work in a thunderstorm, and quite fortunately I don't feel like being at work later. How many times can you call off in a certain period bef...
Hey guys. I don't have any vacation time yet, but is it ever possible to just randomly take a week off without pay? Sometimes I don't get any hours anyway. My dad really wanted to go on a vacation this summer, but I feel like I'd have to quit my job to go. :(
I work at a large Kroger store as a front-end cashier. I make $11.63 an hour and my union dues are $18.75 a week plus $5 for medical insurance that I don't use and I can't figure out how to opt out of it. I live in a place where avg rent is $1600 a month. Put simply, I HATE my job. Once I find something else I'm quit...
Alright so I just started in the deli department at my local Kroger. I really like the HR lady at my store who hired me, but not so much my new manager. She came up to see me on the day I was finishing my computer training in order to schedule me in for training. Our store is so hurting for help that she wante...
I am learning that at Kroger when it comes to hours, seniority means NOTHING. Despite what they told me when I was hired. In the department I work in there are 3 positions: 1 full time and 2 part times. I have been there longer than the other part time employee by 2 years and they gave him 40 hours and me 20 ho...
So, I'm a bagger, and I believe I'm a hard worker if I do say so myself. Passionate. So, A customer came up to me and asked for a 24 pack kroger with the bigger cap. She was older and the Plastic saving one's too hard to open. She already grabbed a 12 pack and was at checkout. She asked me to look, I looked hard &...
Does anyone out there have a management team that can say anything positive to the associates. Every negative seems noticed, but never ever do we hear a thanks for all you do. doesn't seem right that we have to be the most friendliest associates on the planet while being beat down and demoralized behi...
Hello all, I have had the beautiful transition from Kro life to freedom and a new job. Unfortunately I found out that the vacation time I would be receiving in my last check would be prorated. So if you know you're going to be leaving, or just plain had enough of the bs lifestyle we're put through at this ev...
Hi all ive missed three days in a row of work and my boss in demanding for me to bring in a doctors note. I've never brought in doctors notes before because they wouldn't take them. Can I call the union about this? And no I am not on any steps. Thanks
The Frys division has gone to crap since Jon Flora passed away. The employees mean nothing amymore. Everyone seems scared to death to lose their jobs. Especially coordinators. People really mattered to Mr.Flora and he proved it. Close to 2 years since his passing and it is just a sad place to
I was recently hired at Kroger as a part-time Drug/GM Clerk. My orientation date is soon and I'm still unsure if I should join the union or not (I do live in Indiana which is a right to work state) I'm 18, still in high school, this is only my second job at which I am going to make minium wage ($7.25). I don't pl...
We were told if a mystery shopper walked up to the deli counter and if every single person didn't say hi, we wouldn't get full credit for the mystery shop. Isn't that the dumbest thing you've ever heard of? I wouldn't shop at a place like that. I'd take my business elsewhere. Tell everyone you know to...
