Hi all. New to the forum, and Kroger. I just got hired in last weekend. I'm working front end, and it's fine so far. But I'm no stranger to retail so I know there is bound to be all sorts of things that are going to be not so great. I was just wondering if any of you had any advice for me about Kroger or front end @ K...
I am pretty sure the answer to this is no but I want some more opinions on this. Basically I have a few coworkers that are well below me on seniority and they are starting to request days off a couple weeks out from now. If they are given those days off I will be forced to work their shifts as I know what the peop...
I make $8.35 an hour. That is only 20 cents higher than my state's minimum wage. I just checked my pay stub on express hr for tomorrow and I see that my dues have risen to $9.18 a week! That is ridiculous. I plan on only working four hour a week once the fall comes because of school but now I think I'll just quit...

Lately its been kind of implied that if I can't consistently stay on for an hour or more after my set working hours then I might not be employed much longer. Such as "We can only keep on people that work later, so you'll be working later right?", or "If you keep doing this (not being able to...
I work in central division. Last night I saw a notice of a new reward program. It says it was started because employees had stated that there were no programs to reward hard workers. After reading what would qualify you for the rewards, it seems like it will just be one more program to reward the people wh...

The only thing I can find in the Union book states that I can occasionally work day shifts, while maintain my night pay (not talking night premium). They have me coming in at 4am, which isn't as bad as when I was coming in at 11pm-12am, but I'd still like to not have to work 5 days at that hour. I've heard I can...
Is it worth it to transfer divisions? I am moving down south and am contemplating transferring instead of quitting. I only make 8.70 an hour for working there for years. I work customer service. I would be working at Harris Teeter because they don't have Krogers down there. Would it be worth the troubl...
Never once... have I called off. Not once. Managers have... Floor Supervisors and other associates have... But not I. Until today. JUST got back from the dentist. Long story short, what was initially going to be a simple tooth extraction turned into a full blown oral surgery and now the pain is ju...

Share your tips/secrets >:) Here's what I've collected from here and other cashiers: 1) Let the customer fill up about half of the belt, ask for their Kroger Card, then scan. Don't force them to give it to yo...
I was gone the day they were supposed to "train" me and I don't really get it. I got a letter in the mail saying that I can refund stuff if it is under $20, but I don't really know how any of this works. Can anyone give me a brief rundown? Recently, I gave someone a discount because they had a make...

Well my Easter Sunday was fun. I was scheduled to do chicken from 9:30-6. The opener from 7-2:30 and the second in from 8-2:30. Now for the closers, a new hire for his first day from 1:30-9, and last guy from 2:30-10. The new hire was a no-call, no show. And the last guy called in. When the manager on d...
Look, it's nice that you'll be feeding us on Easter. I appreciate it, really I do. But is there a need to put up a bunch of flyers that say "If you're spending the day with your Kroger family on Easter, there will be food upstairs." No I'm not spending the day with my "kroger family."...
