We've had a manager trainee in our bakery department for the past two weeks. Today he was slicing cakes for cake for two. The bakery manager and two other women were there too. He got ready to leave and the bakery manager told him he needed to clean up his mess first. He said, "That's woman's wo...
I've been working at Kroger for about four months now, and I've been a kind worker who always gets their stuff done. Since I was part time, I worked maybe three-four days a week. As time has gone on, I'm lucky to get one day a week. Just this week, in fact, I have not been scheduled at all. I asked my manager ab...
I was told key retailing was 5 minutes per tote in Drug/GM. Seriously? A tote full of mascara and nail polish in little boxes that have to be opened, sticker & security strip put on them, then put on the shelf. In 5 minutes? Some totes have over 50 boxes in them. I'm sure they don't even account...
I need to talk to a union rep about my termination. I got terminated for writing down that I clocked in at nine instead of ten because I was running late and I had no phone to call the store to let me manager know. I wasnt even scheduled that night to come in but told my manager I would go in because I didnt want t...
My store manager called me in to his office today, giving me this whole spiel about donating part of my ($7.75/wk) paycheck to the United Way, he had a form with my name on it and everything. I told him I can't donate this year, he grudgingly accepted and I had to put a zero in the amount box and sign it. Is thi...
It is really sad when people misuse their so called power. Manager are good at employees how easy a job is while the sit on their big fat ass. They show no consideration while they sip on their power drinks. Please pitch in and show how to do it missy. Thanks for the lesson for the lesson in how many manag...
What can I do? I see other people getting moved to the bakery, Donatos, or Starbucks (which are in the deli/bakery area so they take their workers from our shared pool of workers.) But no matter what I do, they won't move me. I'm a good worker and I've been there longer than most people, but whenever I ask t...
As a bagger and with the union, I am guaranteed a minimum set smoking of hours per week. But lately I have been given LESS than the minimum amount. I have talked to management and that did as much good as lighting a wet match underwater. So what I'm wondering is this; I have been scheduled way under again. W...
Ok, so I had originally 24 hours this week. I got called in yesterday to work in my department (produce) from 3-7 pm, and I was happy to do so. This upped my hours to 28. Today I saw that Kroger was calling again to probably call me in. I ignored the call and the voice mail was from the front asking if I could run...
Today, I was called in to pick up 7-8 hours after a no call no show; I gladly accepted the shift since that would put me in the upper-twenties on hours this week, and as a teenager I take as much as I can get. However, I am dependent on a ride and, in hindsight, should have checked to make sure I had a ride. As you...
Well the deli schedule came out today and instead of the 35-39 hours I usually get a week I got 31.50. Everyone got their hours severly cut and I'm one of only two people other than the dept. managers who got over 30. And get this out hr/hiring person said were fully staffed. Fully staffed but half our c...
someone fill me in, ok so the computer generates the schedule for them? how would that work? what will that do to those who have a fairly set schedule? I just cannot see how this is a good thing. Will it spread out night shifts or what? Is it true that it remembers what days you've requested off and sto...
I recently went full time into the freezer, and got written up there because I didn't edit the order on the computer. The main problems I have with this is: A) I did not have a login to the computer. I asked for the login three times, was given the response from my manager. "ya I'll put the order in for...
Well as a courtesy clerk I basically made $77 this past paycheck for 13 hours. Yea. And I look at eschedule today and have another 13 coming up next week. I'm sure it is because we have high schoolers working and that if I wait a few more weeks my hours might perk back up. They were going an average of 16 befor...
no liquids allowed while working front end? our manager recently has put notes on all the registers that food( obviously) and drinks, are not allowed while on the clock. it was prompted by a girl going to the bathroom when we were getting slammed. our manager doesn't want us going to the bathroom as muc...
At our kroger there are three cleaners 1 in the bakery & 2 in the deli & they are worked hard.In my opinion they each do a good job but our managers &store managers don't agree. Some nights they have alot of stuff to clean others nights very little because of them we have passed 4 eco-lab inspe...
awhile ago our district manger made us split our u-scan monitoring stations, and said that we had to have two people over there to run all 8 registers, this hasn't been happening, our store manager has made us run 6 and the other person scheduled for u-scan is sent on register, so they don't have to sched...
I was curious what everey one else thinks of this new Que-Vision strategy. It's definitely new to me! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that this is being implemented in all the stores. Am I right? Supposedly, they want to cut down on the long lines at the registers, so that there are no more than 2 cu...
Fifteen minute shift breaks are barely enough time to find something to eat and drink, let alone rest. Fifteen minutes may be able to save you on car insurance but they sure don't do much for a meal.
