Our produce manager has been off for a week on vacation, the whole dang week when I go in at 4am to cut fruit I have to clean up the work station, hunt down the carts which have been buried in boxes in the back of our cooler, move boxes away from the wall so the grocery guys won't be jerks with our pallets (those...
Last night I was the midnight cashier and was closing with my manager, my last order was in the payment of a check. I took my till up to the office to put it away so I know for a fact the check was in my till. This morning I walk into work and my manager is flat out screaming at me in the office that I stole my last t...
Last night I went to work. I worked hard. We finished a grocery truck. I wrote the order for tonight's truck. I clocked out and went home. No problems, just thought I would post something that wasn't a complaint for a change.
I'm about to turn 50 years old next week, and I work midnights on the grocery crew. I've been doing it going on 15 years, and I feel like it is finally catching up with me. It is getting to me mentally and physically. It would be nice to going back to days, and getting to sleep at night, but working days at Kr...
So, my store is switching to black aprons starting tomorrow. I was only given a blue one and was only notified about the change on Thursday by the form of a note by the time clock. I asked about getting one then, but nobody was able to help me. Am I responsible for getting a black apron on my own or are they res...
I'm currently a general clerk, but my manager asked to work overnight this week as a Grocery stocker. do overnight people get paid more than general clerks?
So as a courtesy clerk, today I was unlucky enough to be bagging for my manager. This is the same manager whom I have written about both underneath this account and anonymous who wrote me up for insubordination about two months ago when it was accused that I had raised my voice to a supervisor. I had been o...
I swear people need to do their jobs and get along! When someone screws up or can't get along with someone they put them back up front as a cashier. Another one got kicked out of deli dept today. One from the bakery two weeks ago. We have enough cashiers up front as it is and they all get around 15 to 18 ho...
(I have not a clue if i'm using this forum correct- apologizing in advanced) I'm unavailable on Wednesdays (School/babysitting), but how would I put unavailable when it says "unavailable between.." do i put it as "unavailable between 12AM-12AM(next day)" would that make s...
I have noticed that in out store some of the Hamburger meat is way too thick. I may not be an expert at grillin but I know it's too think to grill. It wiould be burnt on the outside before it cooks in the middle. I even asked one of the meat departmeant workers. They told me that is the way corp office wanted it c...
I recently requested a few days off for a family event. I put in for the time off (4 days) in april and am supposed to be leaving for my trip next friday. The schedule just came out and it does not look like i have the first day of my unavailable days off. I gave them plenty of advance notice and my manager know t...
Currently the Kroger I am working at came out with these new store promotion T-shirts that say "Glad you're here" on the front. We have had the shirts for about a month now but they have never been mandatory, I have always worn my regular blue polo. But just today one of my coworkers said they w...
We just started Stuff The Bus. Are we required to ask for donations? I know in the past if cashiers didn't like doing it nobody pressured them. Our new co manager is hell bent on squeaking every dollar out of every customer that comes through the line. She even went so far as to tell one of the courtes...
So, I've been the newest courtesy clerk for over a month, until now. This girl, who was also a courtesy clerk, quit or got fired or whatever and our store was quick to hire another courtesy clerk even though on most days we are over scheduled. During his training hours last week, he was extremely slow; I m...
In case any of these earworms have been driving you nuts (They play these every day at my store), this will help... www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKDXe0FP2wc www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3_OoBk2oX8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSZ5QFu2a_c www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF10ilsVrzY You will not know an...
The other night I was working at the register and a customer came to do an exchange of one cake for another and pay the difference, (yes she had her receipt). Normally, I send them to customer service to resolve the exchange but it was 11:00 PM and the customer service booth closed at 7:30PM. I called a fel...
A manager called me about an hour ago asking me if I wanted to extend my hours today since I only work a 4.5 hours shift (12-4:30). I missed the call so she left me a message. In all honesty, I'm ok with working 12-4:30 today just because I have to work from 5-Midnight tomorrow. Anyway, I'm just wondering if...
I have the feeling our CSM is on very thin ice at the store I work at. From what I know, a store is only allowed three dips per day. Our store typically goes well above that. I can recall one Sunday, a few months or so ago, we got over twenty dips (and yes, our CSM was there from 10:00AM-6:00PM that day). It's no...
