So I've been gone from Kroger for over a year now, and I've had a few positions since then working elsewhere. I currently doing deli work somewhere else. It's not my dream position at all, but I got 40 hours off the bat at a fairly livable wage, so I'll stick with it. I've gone back to my home store a few tim...
I start as the new seafood lead tomorrow. I basically think I have it all down, except for some technical things managers should know (inventory, signs, resets, etc). I have only been seafood backup for the past four months, but have been in the meat department for a year. Seafood is a wreck now, a wreck...
So.... We have a customer, an elderly lady, whom has come in our store off and on for months. And when she's here, she begs other people for either money or for them to buy her food. She bugs everyone. Customers and associates alike. She would keep trying to pay with random garbage she found on the floor.....
I have been a conditioner at Kroger for a couple of years now. This was supposed to be a temporary second job for various reasons and I won't be doing this much longer, but the parade of stupidity I have seen is worthy of a finely crafted novel. Kroger will hire any functioning retard that passes a drug tes...
I've noticed in the last several months since I left Kroger that the store conditions are terrible. And the shelves have tons of holes and I rarely see the same employees two visits on a row. Is this the case everywhere now!?
I normally clock in right on time, (and I know the rule about 7 mins before / after the shift beginning / end), but, does it negatively affect me in any way to clock in a minute or two (or 5?) early? How about late? (although I'm sure clocking in late doesn't look good) also, how about clocking out early/lat...
Not on the schedule exactly, but ever since I started it seems management doesn't give a **** how long you work as long as the job gets done. This will be my third week of pulling overtime even when my schedule only puts me at 20-32 hours. According to an old timer in grocery some weeks we can put 60-70 hou...
I am employed with King Soopers and have been for a little over a year and a half. Before that, I "worked" for Walmart for a year, then after a long unemployment period, Target, before finally ending up in the Kroger Co. As a bakery clerk, I was started out doing 8-4:30 shifts, which is typically the "mana...
I have been with Kroger for 30 years, and I work on the night crew stocking. I went in at midnight this morning, and they told me that the grocery manager walked out yesterday, and the grocery backup called in sick!!! So, I was in charge for the night, and co-manager gave me the keys to the kingdom. I hav...
Hi guys my department manager has taken like 10 personal days and has been paid for them. How the hell do they give personal days to people who call out everyday. Oh yeah and the department is in a time of need with all the holiday supplies. How many personal days are people allowed to have per year
I worked for kroger for a year and eight months. Left for six months and worked at a lumber yard and then two weeks ago started back. They arent giving me experience pay and i want to fight it. What should i do and how much should i get?
It's my first November at kroger and I can see the manager is already ordering entire pallets of stuff like brown sugar to prepare. When do the sales start picking up? I've heard from others in grocery once it hits I might be facing 60-70 hr weeks. I already do a minimum of 40 hrs with sometimes 45-50 becau...
For the past few months a young "kid" in our department has been getting preferential treatment by our department leader and old timers in the department. Theyve gave him the early opening hours like 5am and they've been mentoring him to be a department leader. My question is, are they allowed to do th...
In my handbook, if it says an employee fears that they will be assaulted or immediate threat of assault to call 911, and then notify loss prevention, and thats all the employee handbook says, but this handbook is older. what do other handbooks say? , is there anywhere online where a kroger handbook can...
The other night we had a very intoxicated customer at one of our registers. We knew he was driving (had the car keys near the pin pad.) Do you call management, or your store security guard if one is on duty? We have been told to just let the customer go. What is Kroger's policy anyone know?
I applied online for a job in early 2009 and was denied due to my background check. I actually got a letter in the mail from corporate stating this. I was unhappy with this result so I went to the store I applied at and walked up to the customer service desk and told the black hunchback of notre dame guy I want...
I'm 15 and work weekends and whenever they schedule me- - I'm a utility clerk, bagger job. I've worked at Krogers for 4 months, work hard, treat customers well, take others shifts and come in usually whenever they call and im not scheduled. I was just told Tuesday by my parents we are going to Destin Flo...
I'm not in a right-to-work state and have been employed for a couple months. our steward only recently wanted me to sign paperwork. That was only a few days ago and my current pay stub shows no dues or init fees. Is there a problem or are we just not supposed to pay dues during "probation period"? I honestl...
Ive been thinking about how many people were hired after me and have since left and the number i have come up with is: 14. In 5 years. This isn't including the three department heads who either retired, or were transferred to another store. And its possible i could be forgetting someone too. So is this a n...
