The other day I saw a black walking down the street while carrying a flat-screen TV. I thought, 'Oh, shoot, that looks a lot like mine.' Then I realized it can't be mine -- mine's home shining my shoes.
Just had a question regarding union dues.. this might be something I should call my rep. for but I figured asking here is worth a shot. I'm requesting the next 2 weeks off but not using any PH or vacation time. Since I'm working hours do I still need to pay the union dues for the next 2 weeks? I'm only workin...
So how many people have had customers say that they will call corporate and have had anything happen? I had to stay an extra 10-15 mins at self checkout because this lady was taking forever with her groceries, already knowing we had closed the store. When she was finished she told me "Oh don't be...
I say "supposedly" because I can't independently confirm whether this is true or not. However, a discussion I had with our store's union steward revealed that not once, but twice, the union has asked for representatives from the Kroger Company to come to the table to discuss pay rate incr...
Hey everyone I am 16 and applied to work at Kroger. If I get hired, what can I expect? How can I be a good worker and get promoted/raises? I want to work hard so they see I am a good worker.
I know that at the store I'm waiting to start at, the employees are given a 10% discount on Kroger brand items. Does anyone know if this discount can be used at Kroger Family stores too? I'm working in one town that only has Kroger, but live in another county where we have JayC Plus & Rulers, both Kro...
Hello all. About a month and a half ago, I applied to Kroger. I'd seen tons of Now Hiring! signs in every window of the dozens of Krogers in my area and I figured if they were promoting that heavily, they were hungry for workers. I'm hungry for work. Hard work, too. I chose 'Overnight Stocker' on my applica...
I've heard that several stores are being threatened with write ups for department heads for out of stocks. Is this allowed? What about stores with unions?
Well since que-vision has been installed in our store I've spent more time up front than any time in recent memory. Told my store manager this and he seemed shocked that someone had the balls to say they don't like it. Anyway I was closing in the deli tonight and while I went to lunch our manager called t...
serious question how does one find there contract? everyone says look at your contract but i don't know where this contract is. i hired on at my Krogers 8 yrs ago so i have no clue if i even have it anymore
Hi, I'm a bagger at a Super Kroger and we're finally making the switch from furniture to apparel. I have a few questions 1. How bad will go-backs get? At my store the CC's do go-backs and not the departments like I've heard happens at other stores. 2. Do the customers like the apparel more than furniture...
I just started as cashier today and I want some tips on how to be better. I've worked in stock for two months so up front is much different. Any tips on important keys or button combinations on the keyboard? how to scan faster? (practice makes perfect but are there tricks to scanning?)
Any of you have that one pet peeve annoying regular customer that when you see them walking towards the checkout area, you start praying they don't come through your lane? Tell your stories. With me is this one very annoying woman that always fills up her cart with over 100 items, she fills up my convey...
Is Kroger Really a Good Place fto Work? I ask this because of my son's experience there. We live so near to Kroger that we treat it like a 7-11. Not only do we buy most of our groceries there, but most of our gas, all of our prescriptions, etc...But I'm thinking that maybe I should take my business elsewher...
When I was hired on, I was told that since I didn't have any experience working a register I could couldn't start out as a cashier, running my own booth at festivals and ren fairs didn't count. I have since found out that that was a lie and the dude that hired me just needed to fill empty bagger spots and didn...
I had a guy come though uscan today and he was purchasing gift cards, several orders of them and about three at a time and was putting about 500 or so dollars on each of them. He paid for them with kroger gift cards, as they were the mastercard or visa ones. I've been an employee for ten years and this has ne...
I work in produce and Ive been working for kroger for just over 5 years. my produce manager wants me to get full time and he says I would have to work 8 consecutive weeks at 40 hours to get it. I've already completed 5 weeks. there isn't technically a full time position available. So we're trying to pull a ha...
Where to start.. Ugh. Well, this bagger has been at the store longer than I have. He doesn't do squat at his job. He'll go to do lot duty and sit there talking to his friends and leave the mess of all the carts outside to whoever comes in after him. He's rude to me and when he's in his car while I'm walking acro...
If you have been following my drama of "As The Home Depot Turns", you know that I called out on Tuesday for my scheduled shift on Wednesday. My Front End Manager didn't like it, didn't like me telling her that it was because of my going to my other job which paid more. She said she was going to tak...
