My biceps and triceps seem to have grown by around a millimeter or so. They're definitely bigger than they were before I started at Kroger seven months ago. It's like my quadriceps and my calves. I ride a bicycle everywhere I go (for now). And since work is three miles away, that's at least six miles in a s...
So I dunno if theres some kind of flu going around but lately the baggers at my store have just been dropping like flies. We've lost three in the past week, and then two before that.... and when i say quit I mean "Johnny didn't come into work to day... *three hours later* oh, he's on the phone apparent...
I've been working at Kroger for 7 months. When I started, I gave them my availability (I work a second job, and take classes), and everything was correct on the greatpeople.me e-schedule whatever. Sometime in July, someone deleted my original availability for one of the days I can only work mornings...
Wht can we do about the flies at my store? Whenever I go on lunch I usually would buy my lunch from the deli. I went back to the deli and there were so many flies buzzing around the food. Some would land on the food but the employees dont care, they would just fan the flies away and keep serving. Same with baker...
Today when I was breaking down the bakery frozen food order, I came across an empty box which had not been opened. It said, "Empty box" on the side. Why?
I have worked for Kroger at Dillons for six years, never been written up for anything. I transferred to another store last year and recently I got trained as an FES. Sometimes when we get really busy I open a register and call management to help watch the front. The other FES's do this too and it doesn't se...
... over the course of the past five months, ALL three of our co-managers have been moved to other stores, plus our store manager is being moved to another store (he's been at our store for THIRTEEN years and is retiring in less than a year and a half... WHY literally swap him with another store manager NO...
Everything we're experiencing, in terms of the destruction of America's economic infra structure is DIRECTLY the fault of the One Percenters. Some of them are Americans; others are Asians, Mid Eastern and Other. We're talking about people you and I and the average person will never know the names o...
TODAY I had a fun experience. It went like this: 1. I see cashier has no bagger. 2. I go to assist cashier as a bagger. 3. Customer wants to use the 3 for $10 deal on Coca-Cola products. Trouble is, she wants a Dr. Pepper. 4. Cashier asks me to go bring a Dr. Pepper (these are the 12-packs). I do. 5. Pause. Cashi...
I began receiving full time benefits 6/1 after 12 consecutive weeks at 30+ hrs. I got a letter today stating I have been reduced to part time coverage 8/1. My hours haven't changed. I went to a dentist to get a treatment plan for restorative treatment. Is that why my insurance was changed?
A common theme or should I say complaint around my store is that management doesn't care anymore. Were making money and as busy as ever and yet we're understaffed, morale is low and older employees are retiring or giving up long held Dept. Head positions because of this. Well besides the rampant und...
I work my a$$ off cutting fruit, I finally get scheduled for more than fruit and I kicked a$$! I got scheduled for more again and again I kicked a$$, my manager was so thrilled he was bragging to everyone how good I was and how fast I got things done, I was so fast I had to ask him for more work. I thought "w...
Shirts my size been backordered for months, i wouldnt mind even buying my own but im sure they would bitch about it. 42-43 hours a week, one shirt with the polo neck falling apart. Thanks Kroger.
I think this unusually; however, I haven't worked an hourly paid position in some time. I applied and accepted a part time position with Kroger as a Cashier. During the interview, the administrative manager told me that due to my experience I would not start at min wage, which is $7.25 where we live. Co...
One of those red electric carts has been ' dead ' for about a month now. Since our carts have numbers, we 'courtesy clerks' who have to deal with the damn things know exactly which one. And since its battery is seemingly dead, we also always know where it is located. Trouble being, it's located in the sec...
At our store, a bagger with a not so stellar work history (a few write ups), and the fact that he's only been employed for 90 days just got promoted to cashier over a black guy who has been there 15 months. I have a HUGE problem with this....the white guy that got promoted constantly sucks up to the floor ma...
Today, I was speaking with my shop steward. He informed me that in our new contract (Cincinnati/Dayton division), status 4 employees will be limited to 27 hours and under from now on due to the healthcare law. I'm completely shocked! He went on to tell me that NO ONE will be making their status 1&3 u...
