I work at a store that was gobbled up by Kroger a few years back. All of our systems and policies are being changed to Kroger.
We had a wonderful store before, and now I worry that Kroger will make it a nightmare, or sweatshop. I am a Cashier and Love my Job, but fear what may happen in the future. We are union...
I'm doing uscan overnight new years eve. what kind of extra fun can I expect? we don't have a rent-a-cop. I've had a couple drunks and suspected some theives but it'll be my first NYE. I'm just glad it's a weeknight.
I've noticed recently that management have quit doing their hourly store walk throughs, at our store only one asst. manager does this so she can be seen and show off her "authority." And the hourly rebounding calls have stopped. I'm assuming this is because noone had the time to do this b...
I just started working for Kroger in the grocery department and so far there haven't been any problems with the quality of my work. But it is difficult to get along with my co-workers socially. They just don't appear to be very friendly and whenever I have greeted some of them, they frown at me or pretend...
kroger is really starting to make me mad, if i quit with 2 weeks notice will they put bad word in if i list them as a reference considering im a hard worker (atleast compared to the rest of the front end)... basically are they spiteful... i got hours this week. 0. but the union workers and slackers whove b...

They ain't so happy, these holiday times. I'm almost three months in at my job, and I am left alone in evenings (well, everyone else leaves 2 or 3:30pm - rare some stay past, but I rearly seem them on the floor, dept. heads, etc.), on the holidays, to handle all of dairy. I'n not so young, and I'm not so tall....
I was 'Suspened' earlier today. For 'Violence in the Workplace.' They have to 'review the situation' before I can go back to work. Today, Not even 2 minutes into my shift, that annoying woman (I talked about earlier in the Treated Unfairly Post) who hates me for absolutely no reason, gave me another...
At our store we have a bunch of signs in the milk department that say something along the lines of "The dates don't lie! Kroger brand milk really stays fresher longer!" How can that be true? What are they putting in the milk that keeps it fresher longer?
Total hyprocrassy here; gonna put that up front. I'm a salaried manager for Wal-Mart, but I do almost all my shopping at Kroger these days. Because why? Because first off, the prices/selections have become increasingly competitive. CHRIST, we can't even compete with Road Ranger or 7-11 any more! B...
I heard today that we won't be getting the $15 gift card we've been getting this tome of year for the last several years. Anyone else hearing of things like this? It kinda sucks mainly because someone posted a article on our bulletin board about Kroger raising expectations on earning because of a bet...
If I wanna give a christmas card, candy cane, etc. to a co-worker, does it have to be when we're both off the clock? I don't want to get in trouble if the company considers it to be a tip.
We're having a promotion in the Southwest called 'Wing in the New Year'. Well, I try and come up with some ideas how to mercendise and push this product. Well, I got to thinking if people have plain wings they're going to want to season or sauce them.. Well, we had a walk through from our District Manager/...
the only way you get anywhere at this crazy place is by kissing ass.the true hard workers are stuck working their asses off for the rest of there lives.
