Some comedic relief for when you look around and realize where you are (working at kroger for less than you're worth). When I stop to think about it, this routine describes mostly every customer I observe. I call that state of mind the trolley trance, named after the shopping trolleys they push around...
How well is equipment maintained at your store? I'd like to figure out how much of the neglect--pallet jacks needing bearings and even missing wheels--in this $700,000-a-week store is the abusive, greedy manager and how much might be the unaccountable corporation.
The lengths management will go to for customer satisfaction are astounding and sometimes despicable. I saw a transgender woman on Twitter who quit after her management asked her to use the men's restroom because a customer complained about her using the women's room. That's not the kind of custome...
Let me start off by saying, I have a Business Administration AA degree and three good MS Office certifications. I really don't need this ****. I'd make more money working at McDonald's. Floor Supervisors make only like $8.50, but they think they're so above everybody. I feel like my front-end manag...
so I recently took over in my department, the person who was the head decided to step down and take the second spot. So I've been dealing with her still trying to be the boss and still trying to control the schedule. which is so damn aggravating she was off for two weeks and the Sunday she was do back she want...
I'm sure most stores have people that get a lot of it, so my question is, what's the most overtime over a year that you've seen people get? Our grocery backup gets a lot every year. He averages around $10k extra income from it annually, 12k this year. I thought I worked a lot and made about 9 extra.
I have 2 weeks vaction, 3 personal days and 60 hours sick pay coming to me. I would like to give notice to quit but not loose all that time. If I quite on good terms, do I still get my vacation, sick pay and personals days paid to me. Or should I try to use them up before I quit. TYIA
So after working in my Kroger's deli for more than two years while I'm still in college I put in my two weeks notice because I was hired somewhere else. I tried to call out for the first time in that period and my department head gave all of my shifts away on the second week. I'm not really looking for advice o...
How does Kroger calculate how many hours the front end earns. My manager was talking to be about it, as I had no idea how the budgeting of how many hours we get works. So for the week in question, the front end had 500ish sign on hours, but only earned 300ish for the following week, how does this process work...
New Supervisor here! I was looking at que, and had a quick question about the dips. If a supervisor gets a dip at 4:00, does that dip reflect 3:30-4:00 or 3:00-4:00? I've been told both ways, but the 3:30 to 4:00 option Doesn't make sense in my opinion.
My store does 50 grand in dry grocery every day, and we only have 4 employees that work at night on truck nights if they're lucky. 1 guy during the day. Store is always a wreck lol. What do you get to work with?
HOW WOULD I GET A COPY OF THE RECEIPT? IT WAS TAX EXEMPT BECAUSE WE ARE A NON-PROFIT. I ALSO CHARGED IT TO OUR ACCOUNT. THE TOTAL IS $9.79. I NEED IT FOR THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT.
Been with Kroger's for a year and I have been paying $2.50 for insurance a week. I haven't gone full time or added anyone but for 4 weeks it went up to $5 then it went back down to $2.50. I talked to the person who does payroll at our store and she said speak with the union rep which I did and she spits out some bul...
Hey I started at Ralphs yesterday and when I was on cart duty it was harder then I expected. What is the best strategy for collecting carts from the lot . Also when you have the 6 cart chain how do you steer it? Thanks
I have 2 questions. 1. So I just got hired about a week ago, and in my first week they gave me 20 hours. I have tons of hard classes and it's my junior year, plus I only have about $80 worth of expenses a month, so I want to move down to 10 hours a week. (two 5 hour shifts) This would give me more time for school and t...
I've been at Kroger since June of 2015, and I've been looking for something better to do with myself. I've decided I want to get into medical coding, and that I could either take a class and become certified or I could go through college (but, I'd rather do the class), but the class is expensive. My questi...
I just started working at turkey hill in PA and I know the Oshawa regulation is after 6 hours u are entitled to a brake of at least a half hour to eat or whatever, my store does not allow brakes at all. How can I make sure the law is being followed without getting fired?
I don't know how scheduling vacations works for any other locations but at my store, we must go through the head store manager to have her mark the date we want on the vacation calendars. In early October 2015, I did just that because I wanted Halloween week off. Unfortunately I could not get that week of...
I don't have my handbook anymore so I can't really look it up. Anyways, i'm a very good worker and everyone in my department loves me. Today, I did something stupid and left an hour early because everything I needed to get done was done. After I clocked out, one of the customer service people asked me why I...
