Stores in my area are (again, what a surprise!) hiring and have set up little unmanned hiring tables with information on what Kroger has to offer as an employer and how to apply. You know what's listed at the top on the pamphlets and little cards (for the first time)? Competitive Pay. Um... competitiv...
Just how hard is the concept of finish what's in one box before opening another? I work in the bakery and I'm constantly finding multiple open boxes of the same product. I straightened out the cookie section in the freezer the other day. I found 2 open cases of sugar cookies, 3 open cases of chocolate...
Are there any particular policies for when too many grocery items get left behind on your watch? I was told on my first day there a few months ago that you could get in trouble if it happens too often. I've made the mistake a few times and I've seen others make it too but I've never heard or seen anyone get in t...
The insurance I get from my store sucks ass. With the amount of money I get paid and the so few hours I get, there is NO way I can afford the bare minimum insurance they give me... In order to use it, I'd have to pay out $2,500 each year not including other costs, before insurance will even kick in. That's dam...
ive just been told I will be trained for the office soon!! Im so excited! Mainly so I can get an over ride. I could use some pointers though. Like the lottery machine. Is it easy to do? What western union? And how long till I get my over ride?!
Anyone in Cincy/Dayton know what the rules are for status 3? Like what happens if someone gets it but with the department there aren't enough hours for everyone. Say for example your department gets 140 hours and you have 2 full time status 1s. They get a total of 80 hours which leaves you with 60 hours fo...
How long until it starts being a stability risk? Guess this is normal for the new year, but outside of full timers and myself (lucky me somehow), baggers and cashiers have less than 20 hours this week. Today, QueVision was at max 13, and we had 4 baggers for 13 lanes. Someone complained, or we'd only have...
Did anybody else get these in their bakery department? They're suppose to be a Latin American/ Mexican dessert that's served on the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6th). They're similar in concept to a Mardi Gras King cake in the fact that there's a plastic figurine hidden inside the cake. The ones...
Two weeks ago, two customers came into the store late and bought a bunch of stuff using coupons that said they have a limit of how many coupons you can use per transaction, and the cashier was told to go ahead and take them as long as they scan and they don't have to override them. Someone later asked the sto...

I get tired of hearing that line over and over. "Oh, you're off already? Lucky you. I wish I could go home at 2." And then every time, their attitude changes as soon as I tell them "You want my schedule? I come back in again at midnight tonight." People really need to just learn to app...
So im a fuel lead kinda got forced into the position after my former boss stepped down. Anyway I've been trying to clean up my department and doing so I've been looking for outdates on cigarettes, I'm thinking this should be a drug gm job right? I don't know I feel like I'm getting under paid for somethin...
I put a request in for changing my availability and whenever I try and go back in to double-check it, I get this message: 'ddlStartDate' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items. Parameter name: value Anyone else ever have this problem
I really need to vent! I have been with this company close to 30 years and have seen a lot of changes. At one point of time, the employees were like family and the upper management really cared. These past few months my opinion of this company has changed. First an employee came to work in severe pain a...
Hi, I was looking on my paystub and I was wondering what ACH NET CHKG was? It took out more than 200 dollars and I only worked for 5 weeks!! Thank you!
ok so 4 weeks ago one of my supervisors asked me what week i wanted to have my paid vacation for 2016. since i ended up not using the vacation time for last year until the last minute i just ended up saying **** it and asked for the first week of January since i had stuff planned around that time. so i filled out...
The whole concept is just a bunch of bull****. Yes, to a degree, it should matter how fast I am checking people out. BUT, some of the ways in which I have been told to increase my ring tender actually make the customers wait LONGER. 1. Help unload the cart...What happens when other people are in line be...
A manager has decided that cashiers with high CCG's need to be placed on express lanes. Working an express lane makes me want to kill myself a little more than usual. So what are good ways to artificially drop my score? It feels so difficult to slow down. Ideally, I'd like to scan at my regular speed but...
