I'd like to switch departments, don't much like the work I'm doing presently. But my store doesn't post the positions I'm interested in, wtf?! I've tried speaking to managers and am getting nowhere. Now I've resorted to applying through Kroger.com to other stores for positions I am interested in. H...
So yesterday was my first day and it was literally nuts. On top of that the most training they were willing to give me was not a lot and pretty brief, I didn't even get my box cutter til the end of my shift. So any tips and tricks of the trade you could possibly spare to make my job easier? And what are some of the...
I live in Virginia and currently we're being hit by Winter Storm Jonas. It's snowing right now and today we're expected to get 3-6 inches, & that's only for today not including the added on 1-3 expected to continue onto tomorrow. I'm scheduled to work 7am-12am as the opening bagger but I can't make...
Walked past the dairy department this morning. ALL the cheese was gone. I mean it was completely wiped out. There was no sliced cheese. There was no shredded cheese. There was no bulk cheese. Walked past the bread aisle. It was wiped out too. Bakery was nearly wiped out too. The even bought al...
So today I was told to leave early by one of my managers. I wasn't feeling well the whole day or even the past two weeks. I was trying to hold it together for my shift but I couldn't do it by break time. It was right after that I started gagging out on the front end while I tried to walk back to work. I ran towards a...
We have a posting in my store for a natures market lead opening. I'm in another department, but thinking about signing for it. Is it more hasstle than it's worth for a $.50 bump in pay? I'm guessing they are still responsible for ordering and scheduling the staff, just not paid as a department head fo...
There's three stores in my area that are so desperate for employees they're offering a $1000 bonus to anyone who transfers and stays at least a year: $200 after 30 days, $400 after 6 months, $400 after 12 months. Of course they don't say how they're going to replace the employees that leave their curr...

I stopped into a different Kroger on the other side of town last weekend. I bought two containers of pastry, one cream cheese and one lemon. Got home, bit into one of the lemon pastries and ugh! It was brown. I picked around the center and tasted it again thinking it was chocolate. Nope. I called th...
I've been on the grocery stocker night crew for years and I'm burned out on it and it has caught up to me with my health. I asked the store manager a few months ago if I could move to days and was turned down. ...

Greatpeople says we get our W2s on Feb 1, and W2Express says we get them on Jan 15th. I've been enrolled to get them electronically since I started working for Kroger, and this is the first time my W2 hasn't been available on the date from the W2 website. Anyone know what's going on?
