Titled Cashiering questions but most will probably end up being about ring tender. Decided to consult the internet since I get the sense that my supervisor/boss doesn't actually know what ring tender is. Other questions I've asked but have gotten mixed/unclear answers. Or I just haven't asked. my...
Looking at a website showing Kroger locations in Houston, there appears to be at least 17 to 20 locations in the metro area. (Correct me if I'm wrong). Anyone in the Houston area that can shed any light on what is going on with the stores around that area? It looks like some of the interstates are under wat...
i live in michigan, which is far from texas, but we're getting the brunt of its rain. this caused our truck bay to flood with sewer water, and some genius thought it would be a good idea to leave a stack of pallets there which got water logged and fell apart. backup boss and I had to clean it up at 3am, and boy d...
I'm still in my probationary period (even tho that was never mentioned to me) and I had to call out today because I have food poisoning (thats finally starting to pass!). I think I talked to someone in HR, and she told me I need a doctors note. I dont have insurance, money or a way to get to a doctors office. I...
So the Kroger I shop at most regularly has this thing in the early mornings where, all over the store but mostly over by the meat counter, there is the clear, heavy, and DELIGHTFUL aroma of frying bacon. Very smart business move, I have to seriously fight myself not to buy a package. What's the deal? I don...
how damn hard is it to get us grocery help? Our managers have no problem making sure the other depts have bodies. Not us. Meat shop has had around 4-5 new guys this summer. We haven't had a new hire in grocery all year that I can think of. If someone calls in sick we literally don't have anyone who can re...
Work in the deli dept and i herd and saw another deli member yell and cuss out the head deli person over being told what to do (lol). The head sent her home and then was allowed to come back with nothing? Management doesn't know what to do and the tension is thick? What can the union about it? I want to transfe...
Someone on this forum once told me that there is a performance report for all the cashiers who have used Uscan. Well, I didn't think my store ran such a report, till today when I found a print out hidden deep in the drawer at the attendant station. The report shows the performance up until the beginning of...
I'm in the Houston area and my store was closed yesterday morning and is closed today. Also, does anybody have that Kroger Weather Alert number? Where they text you with updates? Be safe out there everyone!
Overheard a manager saying that more will be expected due to the higher pay rates. Manager in my store making rumblings about cutting hours to the 12 hour union minimum if we don't "give more" performance to the store. I just do the job I was trained to do. I am not here for the customer's emtertainment an...
Will be my 1 year anniversary at ol' Kroger. Which means I've earned my week off. And although it's already scheduled, if one of the managers is on today, I'll see if I can get them to make sure they can assist me/tell me what I can do with scheduling that week off if it doesn't show in my list of time off optio...
They got called up to do bagging. So I assumed they were doing bagger's duties, which would include taking back perishables, since the managers have been adamant about perishables being taken back immediately. There was no other baggers around. So I asked them, not even to take it back immediately...
So I just been notified from our division that we will do inventories on Tuesday and that we will have to count inventories for period 12 as well. Is it the same for everyone? I'm def not happy about doing inventory for period 12 that's for sure.
Type 1: *takes bag off scale, u-scan tells them to put it back on, rings call attendant button, screams and cries* Type 2: *U-scan gives weight warning, i.e. "Make sure the correct item was placed in bagging area", ring call attendant button, explain problem in full detail to attendant, message is go...
