Seriously, what's up with all the smokers at Kroger? Full disclosure, I have never smoked, but I am married to a smoker so I am not an anti-smoker a-hole. But holy Jebus, it seems like every one I work with at Kroger is a smoker. Is there something about this line of work that attracts smokers? It gets a li...
Mine botched it. The lowest ranking associates had to take the lead . . . hours after they were denied even the rudimentary paperwork. If it isn't a "greed metric"the stuff (like 1% overtime) that affects management bonusesour managers don't know or care about it. Three levels of management weren...
When will I be able to use the kroger card I recieved during orintentation for the 10% discount? I tried using it yesterday (obviously in Kroger products) and it has not worked yet.
My store recently put signs on the doors, saying Shoes and Shirts Required. I know the weather is getting warmer, but seriously, who goes into public places barefoot? The shirtless thing is a whole other ball of icky, since most guys who go around shirtless are not exactly ripped.
Has anyone else heard about the company getting rid of the HR position, and "restructuring" the comanagers, so that there will be, instead of a grocery comanager, a perishable co, and a drug/gm co, there will be an operations comanager, another one i forget the title of, and an HR comanager? From what...
I have a feeling I might get called in on a personal day as someone who worked with us just unexpectedly quit. I'm going to def say no if they do call me but i'm wondering if they're even allowed to try and call me in on a personal day.
In Short: Customer Order Totaled (for example) $118.37 so customer gave me $120.00 and in the rush to excel I accidentally put in $12.00 (Enter) instead of $120.00 (Enter). How can I quickly and efficiently fix this? I'm not an idiot, but there's a lot of pressure at checkout and I'm not a wiz ye...
so I have to do a church service every Sunday, so I naturally put "unavailable" in my schedule, but after a few weeks I was schedule for Sunday, so on Saturday I called in to let them know that I wasn't showing up on Sunday, so how much trouble am I in?
Being a dept head is a fate worse than death, been with the company nearly a decade. We got a new store manager from another division. He is a complete ******* no people skills, terrible with customers and employees but no one up top gives a crap. I'm being harassed and written up, this guy has a vendetta a...
Been trying all day but every time I try to log into greatpeople.me I get this error: http://i.imgur.com/ul9EvsI.jpg I've tried my desktop, my laptop and my phone and they all return the same error. Is this happening to anyone else?
I have worked for Kroger since 1987. My Mother passed away on April 4th of this year. I informed my human resources office of her death and mentioned that my Mother lived in Utah. I live in South Carolina and the funeral wasn't until the 11th of April. When I returned to work, I was given notice of 4 da...
So our last store manager got fired and we got this thing that looks like butterbean except fatter. Putting that aside there was a incident involving a girl in our produce department and the store manager. Apparently she got a call from her friends mom that her son had a stroke and got in a car accident. T...
Do you know how you can tell that they are afraid? The 4-6 huddles a day and other dumb ideas are trying to prove they are worth having a job. But the truth is we both know you are worthless and gone. Keep coming up with dumb ideas to press the same thing everyone does everyday anyway...None of your ideas are...
I've been working for Krogers for around a year now. When I first started there it wasn't that bad, but they started hiring in a few teenagers that refuse to do any work. Supposedly some of them have been written up 15-30 times each, yet they're still getting 35 hours a week. Examples of laziness below...
