A coworker of mine told me that grocery crews at several nearby stores, maybe the whole district, got their hours cut this week. We certainly did - we are now way under hours. And we could barely get trucks done before even with everyone working 40 hrs a week. Just wondering if anyone else has had this goi...
I've got a kroger issued hat, never been given a problem about wearing it, being a cashier. I wore It for 3 months straight when I got a bad hair cut. Now today, my co-pay a get says we can't wear them, but won't price t out another copy of the uniform code. I know I have never seen anywhere that says cashiers c...
I thought I would just inform you guys that, at least in the Columbus Division, we will be updating to Esched 2.0. The portion of greatpeople.me that houses esched will be unavailable until sometime on Monday. As far as what changed in this version... There is a new look that will be put in place. Also sc...
So I work for King Soopers, a Kroger subsidiary in Colorado, and our contract with the union is almost up so the company has really been stretching us thin. I'm technically just a checker/cashier but my store has me doing CC work, and maintenance around the store due to how few workers we actually have...
So I have been working at Kroger for a little over a year now as an overnight grocery clerk. Probably never would have taken this job if I'd known ahead of time just how stressful this job would be, but I guess that's another story. I started out at $8/hr and have gotten 2 $0.50 raises so that I am now making $...
It's been a pretty common belief for awhile now that Kroger is trying to limit full time status to as few positions as possible, like dept. head, assist. dept. head, and leads, and typically, overnight grocery is pretty good at hitting full time status, but when management isn't actively blocking da...
the city I live and work in is considering raising the minimum wage to anyone who's encountered this: is it probable that my pay rate won't be affected since I already make above the prospective minimum?
Am getting tired of microwavable noodles, wondering if y'all have any other quick but healthier (though, pretty much anything is healthier than sodium-in-a-box) choices. I don't have a car, so can't go to fast-food places, eat, and be back before the 30 minutes hits.
Well I'm frying chicken today and 8 pieces are on sale for $4.99, down from our normal $6.99. While I'm filtering a fryer a man comes up to our self-service case and stares at it. The ladies working with me as well as myself assume he's looking at sandwiches or salads or some cold chicken. After a couple...
So today marks me one year anniversary at Kroger. And of course the best way to celebrate is after getting off a nine hour shift having a regular customer stop you and after a five minute conversation ask if I like older men and would consider some help paying for school in exchange for taking up a "...
I had heard from one ACSM at a store other than the one I work at that Que-Vision is "gone" and I asked the ACSM at the store I'm at and was told that it's true and that 1 + 1 and dips are no longer part of front end metrics. It's due to stores being so understaffed, apparently, that it's no longer pra...
I've been scheduled a 10 hour shift this week and I'm wondering what, if anything, I should do about it. I already had to reduce my availability and call my manager to get less hours so I can go to college, so I don't want to come off as whiny to my manager, but I feel as if I'm being exploited by being expected...
So, I am in a bit of an emergency situation and need to move from the town I work in ASAP. I want to put in my two weeks still, but I have a week of vacation time coming. If I put it in a week before my scheduled vacation, will I still get that pay or do I forfeit it? Would it be best for me to do my two weeks after? Doab...
Finally had the last two/three experiences that were the straws to break the camels back, so to speak. First, I heard from a reputable source (a head stock with about 20+ years with the company) that when the new Marketplace store opens up locally, everyone has to reapply for their jobs. The f*ck is th...
Last week we got mystery-shopped by an a$$hole who: 1. Said that the manager didn't acknowledge her, when the films show that they had about a minute long conversation. 2. Didn't even go through all of the departments, saying instead that he couldn't find anyone. 3. Couldn't speak English very well w...
