For grocery, I run our evening (kmp) truck, for the most part on my own. We used to have multiple people working these trucks but now with the **** hours, they rely on one person to do the whole thing. It averages around 300 cases, but sometimes goes to 500. Anyway, seems like most of the time the DDP say...
So after having talked with one of the big guys upstairs I've basically been approved to move departments without having to deal with my FEM stopping me (she refuses to let anyone move departments without a lot of kicking and screaming basically). Though we have availability in a few different depar...
I'm so happy for all of you who finally go out of Kroger! I hope you all find another job twenty times better :) On another note, I feel stuck here. Like I know right now financially I can't just quit Kroger, and not many other stores are hiring that are in walking distance. So in other words.. I'm stuck her...
I requested for 2 days off in March, one Thursday and one Saturday, and I requested OVER a MONTH AGO. It still says "pending" on e-schedule though. How long does it take for these to go through? I've been with Kroger for over a year, but these 2 days (really 3, because I have approved unava...
I REALLY don't like seeming completely ignorant, but, I'm sorta desperate right now!! If you work for Kroger's, you already know what a good job it is, but, supervisors and customer service employees that are obviously in a higher level than you are can really be buttholes sometimes! I'm learning th...
Hi. I just recently been promoted to Nutrition Lead. Nobody was clear about the pay rate. How much does it pay and do I get that pay automatically or do I have to do something first to earn it? (As of 2015) My confusion is because just recently, nutrition has become part of grocery. It used to be part of prod...
Frontendslave, where are you? I just can't get thru a day without reading about how awful your job is. When you are gone for a couple of days like this I start to worry that your job has driven you to suicide. I know how seriously you treat your job. Please come back!
I called work yesterday and told them that I didn't feel well, and they told me I have to bring in a doctor's note. Can Kroger force employees to go to the the doctor???
Sometimes I feel like the goal some UNIT managers and Co managers have in mind is making as less sales as possible, or coming up with schemes designed to hurt a department in order to create an excuse to jump on the workers and try to make changes to said department as a way of pushing folks out of the door. ...
I have been trained to cut meat. Been to a store for 50 training hours and been to the class. Trained to order and am asked to regularly. Am often referred to as the "most dependable" in my department by both store management and my dept. head. And yet still make min. wage. Our meat processor is...
I really hate it when people quote previous posts. Its a pain scrolling thru abc wrote/ def wrote/GUI wrote. we know, we already read it. I think we can figure out who you are responding to.
I've been told by multiple people within Kroger that a status 3 employee is guaranteed 34 hours a week. yet I can't find proof of that anywhere. Is this true and if so is there any concrete proof to provide?
Folks, please believe me when I tell you: E Schedule is really not the end of the world some seem to believe it is. Wal-Mart rolled this same thing out several years ago, even before I got into management myself, and I too thought it was going to be a fiasco. But it's really not. Think of it this way. Your sto...
I knew it wouldn't go well, it usually doesn't. They had a new FES that pulled me out of my line to his. I told him no, I was just getting cigs but you know how they are. So off he goes to the cig corral after asking me twice what kind of cigs I wanted. Never smiled, asked how I was etc. Came back and asked me w...
Have you ever wondered how a forum like this gets started? I mean surely it didn't just appear on its own with 5000 unique users already sharing stories about the hell known as Kroger. Who was the originator of our beloved forum(our very own Kirk Unit)? How long was his seemingly endless wait for a respo...
Whatever happened to that frontendpetersucker guy?I kinda miss him. His first few post were really quite amusing. After awhile he did become a bit tedious. This forum could do with a little humor. Surely not everyone really truly thinks Kroger sucks.
I have an interview with Home Depot, supposedly for the gardening department, on Monday. If the person on the phone at their HR headquarters was correct, the pay would be about $9.50 an hour -- more than $2 what I make at Kroger now as courtesy clerk. But it would probably only be part-time, and I have a fe...
So I am working on filing through Turbo Tax...nearly $600 through State and Federal combination. My question is, does the figure that Kroger provides (and Turbo Tax miraculously picks up automatically after I provide my information...) include the $7 union fees per check since I joined?
