Basically I applied to several different krogers on my job hunt. I went to the interview not knowing which position I would be interviewed for. I was interviewed, drug tested then offered a position in the deli..after going home I received a call from another Kroger for an overnight position which I w...
Hello all, I work in a fuel center in good old Ohio and I have to say it sucks. Our heat barely works and when it does click on it doesn't stay on for more than 5 mintues and no we do not have a thermostat its broke of course. Our floor is so wet that we literally have puddles of water that we stand it all day! oh and...
I was looking at the vacation list in the break room and we have it listed seniority and how many weeks they have available. On this list they have 1 beside the most senior employee and a total number of employees in the store. Last year we had right at 100. The year before close to 110. This year, 80. Th...
Today is my first day to officially start at Kroger. I've already done the two day orientation, and today is my first day out of the three days my manager has assigned me. I'm suppose to go in at two and I am so nervous! She told me the name of the girl who's suppose to train me into being a clerk. Does that mea...
Hello, I am new in deli dept at a Kroger in IN. Can't seem to find a list of standard 4-digit codes used with sliced-to-order deli meats and bakery products. IS there a list somewhere???? It seems like everything I find on the net is relating to PRODUCE, not deli!!?? Dave
So we got a new store manager two weeks ago after our other one retired after 45 years of service in January. A reasonable amount of time has passed for my coworkers and I to conclude that she isn't a pleasant person. She lives, eats, breathes, and dreams key retailing. She's very aloof and uncaring when...
Here in Southern WV were expecting anywhere from 14-20 inches of snow. Our deli closed at 4 yesterday because no one could make it in during the afternoon. And several people stated they probably won't be in today. I'm wondering what hassle if any are you are getting if you call in during really bad w...

So although I still don't have a four-wheeled transportation thanks to the monster in my driveway needing repair and Kroger not providing enough $$ to care for it, I am still looking hopeful for the future. Today I interviewed at Home Depot for Garden Department.....but when I mentioned getting car...
So... either someone in the bakery goof'd with ordering, or CAO is just a pain in the rear. The local Kroger just got MORE pies. Not just any pies. More PUMPKIN and PECAN pies. All varieties, from the 6" all the way to the 10"-12". Right now, they've got them marked down to a dollar EACH....

So I recently quit my job at a store across the state and moved down to the city. I still have my uniforms and box cutter. I burned the bridge already, so I don't care if I get banned from King Soopers/ City Market or any other Kroger. So now it's time to have some fun on my day off. I'm going to dress up as an...
Okay so here's the deal... Thursday I had to leave two hours early from my eight hour shift. I got our manager's approval because I was feeling very sick. Friday I was scheduled off. Today (Saturday) I was scheduled a short shift bur was too sick to go in and called out sick (the same manager that let me go h...
Been wanting to ask this since my days of being an employee are over. How do you guys see the work force of kroger being? I see it being these main groups 1. Young kids: Teenagers/college students. Most of them will not be there long and some will have a work ethic. 2. Retired: Those that are looking for som...
I live three miles away, so it takes me 45 minutes (average) on a good day to walk. About 20 minutes to bicycle. I got put on an 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. shift this Sunday because our FEM had to add two courtesy clerks and two cashiers. Am I mad? No, not really because once again I got 12 hours despite having seniority o...
This is a billion dollar company severely mis-managed! I couldn't take the anxiety of working there. I don't believe I stayed 3 years...A waste. First off the schedule it is not made until Friday and not posted till noon and does not show up on-line till after 2pm on Saturday. Yes and you may have to wo...
So today I'm on 'lot duty on pharmacy side and temporarily helping out the courtesy clerk who has 'lot duty for the main entrance because we were low on carts. Well, at our store, the customers have decided that a No Parking zone is only a suggestion and it's okay to park in the fire lane if there isn't a fir...
The wind chill where I live is supposed to be -30 tomorrow. How much do you all wanna bet that they'll still send the the CCs out on carts? I'm not doing it. It's just too cold. I'm sorry, but I don't wanna risk losing my fingers and/or toes just to get carts. Nope.
