So I finally had it out with my total bitc-h Front End Manager today. I'll post more about it later when I'm less tired and my head is less clouded. The store's co-manager was there with us because the actual manager is on vacation. I didn't have union rep with me because I didn't even know whom to ask for --...
Well found out today we've got a new co-manager. I asked who was leaving just to find out no one. Kroger out of the goodness of their hearts, (Yes that's sarcasm) decided to give us another co-manager. Now we have 3 co-managers and one main manager. When I started we had only 1 of each. I find it funny t...
Still not my store. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened at mine, though. ...If it did, at least it would mean we wouldn't have to go get carts for a little while. Management would wait for the crime scene tape to come down. Or at least the bloodstains to be cleaned. As if there aren't enough of them already...

So my husband and I was talking about me trying to get full time in my department. A few months ago, we had a full-timer transfer stores and they haven't filled the position yet. As far as I know, only one person bid for it, and because she's considered incompetent, she's disqualified. Our departmen...
I'm a new hire cashier Where should I go to get a paycheck? At money service? and how does the direct deposit go?!?! what does deposit advice only mean?! Thanks!
Well thank God that the holiday season in over. Just before it started we got a new store manager who didn't allow any extra hours and cut them even more than the already low amount we were already given. And the number of new hires has recently dropped. They work a few days then quit. The HR lady told m...
What are some of your guys' worst customer experiences? This has to be mine... one night I had this guy who's a regular in my store and he's always an ******* about something. So tonight I got the message about "Get customer ok, RX redemption coupon," and I forgot to ask him before I accidenta...
Thought I'd share this little story. A couple days ago a lady came in and spoke to one of the deli employees, dammit I missed all the fun because I was at lunch at the time, and said that she got sick from the holiday dinner she purchased for thanksgiving. She didn't bring any of the dinner items back, all...
Just wondering, but I haven't seen it at my store. The reason why I ask is because of the alerts section of this website, different people around the country are reporting it to the website stevequayle.com Here's the link http://www.stevequayle.com/index.php?s=33
I work in the bakery and I was closing yesterday. I left, and about a half an hour later I realized I forgot my phone. Since I live 5 minutes away, I decided to go get it. I was still wearing my uniform shirt when I got there and a customer wanted me to slice their bread for them (using the bread slicer). I don'...
You accepted a job at Kroger. Before you started I am sure you were given a job description and told how much you would make per hour. Since you work for Kroger you must have agreed to these conditions. It still amazes me that people agree to work at a specific pay rate and then after a week or two think they d...
Hypothetical question. Would someone bribing you to take a shift off them due to a not-so legit reason be grounds for punishment? Not me, but someone bribed me with food to take their shift, and I have no intentions of taking it anyways, but was just wondering if anyone else was ever in that situation....
I last got express HR to work last Wednesday. Has anyone else had trouble with it? Two of my shifts last week were not scheduled so I really want to check my paystub tomorrow to make sure I get my hours
Is it me or all front end managers power hungry like the one at 439 in Ft Worth texas???? Now my issue is that the front end is understaffed and she keeps calling associates from other departments to cover her backside.......Now I work in a diff...
I heard that my grocery manager might step down and go back to working days on the front end. If the grocery manager position becomes available, should I try to get it? I've been with Kroger for 30 years and been on the night stocking for 14 years. I don't know if I really want the headache. I'm always on...
I'll post more about it later...but it was her, myself and the co-manager. I didn't request union because I was under the impression, through asking co-workers who had been there longer than me and knew more than me, that the union rep was not there at the time. Turns out that we have two union reps at our...
I know most of the tax plan letters that come up when you scan an item, e.g.: "1.99 F" or "1.99 B" F = Food stamp eligible B = Both food stamp eligible and taxable N = Neither food stamp nor taxable T, X = Taxable, not food stamp eligible The other day I noticed another letter, Q. Does an...
It looks like I barely have 13 hours next week. If you wonder why I complain so much, try working for $80 a week and see how you feel. I picked up $130 this past paycheck. For the work they ask and for what I do, $80 a week won't cut it. I can rake yards and clean gutters and make more than that for the same amount o...
