So our plant manager here at Columbus Bakery is due back tomorrow. He was across the pond for the passing of his Father. Guess where he was! He was in Liberia. I think I'll let the local health authorities know of the situation if he does indeed come back tomorrow. I would push for the 3 week isolation peri...
So, I was out doing carts today and this lady decided to NOT stop as I was crossing with a load of carts. Most people are courteous enough to stop and let me go. This lady, however, wasn't even paying attention. She blew through the parking lot without even looking. Two other CCs who were out there with me a...
I woke Monday morning with a terrible pain in my body (I don't want to be too specific because I fear that I may be singled out) and went to the Emergency Room. I was given hardcore pain meds and told to go home and follow up with a specialist. I called the specialist and was told they could see me Friday morni...
In todays episode of we "didnt show you that"...... I spent my shift stocking candy. I was told one way supposed "easy way" was to get a gun scan it and see if the item was "active/inactive". Luckily i was able to go the shelve and see what was needed. so just how do you fin...
What a day! I paged for an override and the floor supervisor was in customer service so she called my register to see what I needed. I told her I need to supspend a transaction. She started yelling "Don't you yell at me, quite yelliing at me". WTF? The comanager was in there with her and on...
I just wanted to see what it was like in other divisions/contracts. How much more than a topped out full time clerk is the lead/manager position in these two departments? Here it is 1.25$ more (average volume without fuel 500k). Compared to the $4.00 more for grocery/produce/drug gm/scan coordin...
I'm wondering what the dsd clerks in other stores do on a daily basis. We have 2 dsd clerks most days, but we work & order all the bread, snacks & cookies, plus work all the beer & wine. My reason for asking is with this new escheduling, we are not being given enough time to cover the dock proper...
Today we have about 6 half full carts of go backs. And even though we have 2 other courtesies, they chose (UN)-lucky me to do them. My co-manager said he wanted ME to do them in one hour. (The other two courtesies were doing other tasks, lot duty and bagging). Plus I was on sweeps, doing price checks, servi...
We had a lady (in my line of course) walk out with her buggy full of items without paying. Long story short my printer ran out of receipt paper and it did that annoying thing where it refuses to let you back out or move on until you replace it, and I told the lady to just wait to finish her transaction until I co...
Okay here's the deal, I have worked for Kroger for going on 3 years and I recently transferred stores because I'm going to school in a different town. I was told that I needed to make a new availability for my new store and I was ok with that because of my new class schedule and stuff. My new availability was...
I've been working at kroger for almost two years now and I would change my availability every few weeks because things come up and I can only work at certain times. When I got the job they told me they would work with my availability however now they tell me I can only change my availability twice IN one yea...

I was hoping some of you could fill me in on the Management Training Program... About how much does someone in the program make? How much does a Co-Manager make? Once you complete the program are you placed into a role of Co-Manager or must you apply to open positions? Will you be a Co-Manager in the s...
Read the recently expired union contract, I went full time after working 25 months, In 5 weeks I will have my 5 year anniversary. My seniority was knocked down by 1 year giving my the pay classification of 1 year full time. In the contract it states "Effective May 19, 2002 part time employees who wo...
Our schedule is posted by noon on Friday, then they give 24 hours to make changes. Eschedule has to be posted by noon on Saturday. I noticed today on the paper copy the manager took away my 8 hours on Thursday and is making me work 4 hours on one of my scheduled days off. I checked ecshedule again today wh...
Really have two questions. What is the standard at your store for candy replenishment on the check stands? and who is supposed to be responsible for it the most? . In my store, it is apparently the overnight sco clerk's duty to do it. I recently got moved to overnight SCO, and most of the time I come i...
So my last lead resigned and the new one got fired, so I'm pretty much the last man standing with seniority that management doesn't hate. They're probably going to ask if I will be the lead (several managers have commented on it already), is it worth it? What are the responsibilities/stresses/etc?
