What are some of the most annoying things you've ever had a customer say or do? The thing that annoys me the most is the black baskets. Customers constantly dot them on the belt and have me unload them. They seem to expect me to scan as I go, but when they do that I take my sweet time unloading it, and then I'll...

The same day we start "PAL" we start having a security guard too. I wonder what the hell brought the changes to our store. Was it corporate, or was it the meeting of store managers that we had at our store about two weeks ago? Something sure lit a fire. And the embers are still warm.

Our store has a (I'm assuming Kroger-approved, since it has its own PLU code) double produce guarantee: If you're unsatisfied with the condition of your produce, you can return it for double your money back. The idea behind it is nice, I've certainly bought produce that was moldy on day one and such, b...

I am a Night Stocker but this week I was scheduled to work as a Frozen Clerk, Natural Foods and Dairy during the day.. Are they allowed to do this? I was told by the recruiter that I wouldn't do any daytime work and I'm very anxious about this as I have never worked these specific jobs..

Why does the management for Foodsco does not have empathy for thsir subordinates? I have been working with this company for quite a few years.. I've seen it go from a great place to work for because of the fact that one can work his/herself up. Little did I know that being promoted does not go with seniori...

I worked at Kroger as a bagger for about 8 months, then after I turned 18 I was moved to the meat department, and got a 10 cent raise from that. So after a year and 3 months I turned my notice in and moved about 30 mins away for college. I currently work at walgreens and make $8.25 and I really miss working at kro...

I have finally gotten another job lined up and about to put in my notice that i will be leaving. Since the schedules are written weekly I plan to give them a week before i leave. I know others have given two weeks but is that really necessary?

Just got back from Kroger and the FEM walked out yesterday. So let's see.....in one month the deli girl walked out, the SRS walked out, I walked out, and I'm sure there are more to come. I guess the gossip is true, they are trying to run off the employees with seniority and whose skin color isn't the righ...

I've seen them hire for front end, produce, hell, I saw a couple of newbies in meat and seafood. But they are making strides to get at least one person into the deli to fix any "call out issues". If someone calls out, especially a closer, the second closer gets the shaft if no one else can com...

I've been working for Kroger for about 4 years now, been a Drug clerk for about 2. I have an excellent Drug Manager, he's taught me a lot and is grooming me for when he steps down within the next year or 2. I know pretty much all day-to-day operations, company objectives, and how to lead a team. The only thin...

Well, at least the people who make the "lot duty" schedule in the morning need to double-check things. I work from 3-9. Arrive at 3. The 'lot schedule has our main entrance working by Employee A. But Employee A is on PAL and can not bring in carts. I volunteer (stupidly) to do the job, which i...

I was told that I accumulated overtime and it has confused me. I came in on Tuesday at 4pm-8pm and then came in Wednesday at 3:30am-12pm. I was told that since there wasn't a 8hr gap between shifts that I should get overtime. This was told to me by coworkers and my dept manager. They told me to watch for it on...

I am a part-time courtesy clerk/bagger. Last week was more decent than usual initially, 19 hours, but then I was asked to stay longer on Friday and Saturday leading up to the Superbowl. In the chaos, I wound up with 31 hours and my store's work week ends after Saturday. But...after doing 6 hours on Sunda...

This weekend we had a "major snowstorm" predicted to hit us. We were so busy our manager made everyone stay over a minimum of 1 hour. To make things better, she didnt tell half of the employees. I only found out because the FEM was telling the cashier I was bagging for. I ended up with a 9 hour shi...

So my Kroger has been notorious for not paying me for the right amount of hours. This has been in the form of shortchanging me. Usually they fix this a couple paychecks later. However, this week I am not sure if they gave me more or less than I'm supposed to get. So here's the deal. Last week I think I...

So next week's schedule was posted. I have a wonderful 12 hours. Yay. But at least four of our courtesy clerks have PAL labeled into the boxes of the days that they work. One of them works four days next week and is "PAL" each day. What the hell is my store up to this time? I don't have "PAL&q...
