I am full time and noticed that management has scheduled me to work six days next week meaning I work 48 hours with only one day off. I did not volunteer to work six days so assuming the schedule stays the way it is should I get time and a half for working that sixth day ? I am a little ticked off because I am al...
Okay I have some questions about cashiering. I started yesterday and have some if the basics down . I still need some help for I can right a cheat sheet to study ... 1.) How to print out my performance ticket?2.) How to print out the little tickets for 'Drops'.3.) How to void produce?4.) How to do checks...
Our contract says that you get paid time and a half on the sixth day but only if you work six CONSECUTIVE days in a week. Does it matter if you are full time ? I thought working on a sixth day would be overtime whether it was consecutive or not since you are working over 40 hours. I am confused.
For real, control your damn kids, the grocery store isn't a playground. If i had a dollar for every time a loose kid darted out from some random isle while i'm hauling a full pallet of water i wouldnt have to work here any more. Lol even at a slow pace that stuff isnt possible to stop on a dime. Oh another thin...
Well, after being asked and asked to become one by management/other front end supervisors and the CSM for a little over a year and a half now, I've agreed to become one and everyone is excited that I'm going to be one (one supervisor told me I'm already better than some of the current supervisors and I'm n...
I just started at kroger As coutesy clerk (bagger) . I did that for a 3 days now they are training me for cashier. Today I get to take a few notes and watch another again for a few then she's going to give me my cashier number and let me try for myself. She says I can write down some things so I can remember them...
At $30,000 / yr wage - it would take me 300 yearshttp://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120511/BIZ01/305110085/Kroger-rewards-CEO-Dillon?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s
I called in sick one day and so my manager had to cover for me and later on in the week I was scheduled to work with my manager and she told me I had to stay over time cause I called in sick. Like excuse me!?
Basic info - I am a 18 year old bagger/cart pusher AKA Utility Clerk. Did not join the union. I average about 30 hours a week. I have worked at Kroger for almost 3 months. I make minimum wage. 1. How do I get moved to cashier? I am getting kind of sick of how physically demanding my current position is. I'm am s...
So I was wondering how much notice dose management have to give you before they make a schedule change? I can tell you that at my store the schedule is posted every Friday by noon, now I have worked for Kroger for 10 years, full time 40 hours a week and never had this problem until I transferred to the store I...
Just wondering how the Union and Kroger (since they both bargain the contract) can justify the fact that every associate starts out at minimum wage, even though the job responsibilities are so different. For example, a deli clerk who has to run the slicer, bake chicken in the oven, fry chicken in the f...
This job basically kills any social life i had before i started and if it wasn't for the fact i've only been working here for a month i'd quit. Some of the people i work with are ok but can't stand the customers or how much it hurts my back and legs halfway through a 4 hour shift.
Rumor has it that if you ever want to go into management at Kroger that you are not allowed to be in the union. Rumor also has it that once you're in the union, you can NEVER get out, which means you will never be considered for management. Does anyone know if this is this true? I would hate to sign a piece of pa...
so I just started working in the deli and I keep hearing about the other workers saying they got a text message from kroger saying they get a free this-or-that each week. How do I sign up for these text messages?! I like free stuff!
store managers are lazy and no help when it is obvious when another manager is not doing their job and making their employees unhappy. You go to them asking if they can talk to this manager but all they are good for is chatting with the customers, making their hourly walk around the store for their exerci...
Recently there was an app discovered for iphone called snippet which had all kinds of coupons uploaded onto it for kroger customers or customers of other retail shopping stores. One nighy in the store of ours a courtesy clerk was in line and he was purchasing items for his break nothing major but they d...
I heard it was illegal for them to have only one person to clear the lot at night by themselves, however our Kroger's only has one bagger past 10. Is it really illegal? I feel incredibly uncomfortable going out there by myself when it's around 11-12
Something must be wrong. At our store all full time people have 32 hours instead of 40 and most part time people who have not been laid off have 15 hours. We have about 75 people including cashiers baggers and customer service and only 55 of us have hours every other department has their hours cut also. I d...
